Re: Fellow Tactical Gamer in Need of Assistance...
Completely remove the game. Re-install the game then the patches. Some times you will have to install each patch in order. Get the full patches and install them and see what happens. If you are running behind a firewall make sure it will allow you access to the Internet. If you are still having problems with the install itself maybe your disks are bad.

Re: Fellow Tactical Gamer in Need of Assistance...
Now I've been getting a DirectX error. I'm going to try and re-install this one more time and install the patches before I boot it up. I might give up after this try though, this is getting annoying.

Re: Fellow Tactical Gamer in Need of Assistance...
It's all a little but fuzzy now as it was almost 6 months ago...but I think I got over this by srubbing my hard drive and doing a complete reinstall of xp. If you have your OS disk you might want to consider this route...it's a lot of work but usuallyworth it. MY MOBO ended up frying a month later so I had to do it all over AGAIN after that.

Re: Fellow Tactical Gamer in Need of Assistance...
This is the one thing that sucks about PC games. If it doesn't work, I'm just SOL because I can't return the game now. Oh well. Maybe I'll try again once I get a new graphics card, whenever that may be. Thanks for trying to help though.

yeah i think you can get those on with having the game. Punkbuster is like a police officer on the server it kicks people who are cheating and stuff like that.

Re: Fellow Tactical Gamer in Need of Assistance...
Ok, so I gave this another try, and I was able to get rid of the dll error by uninstalling windows defender and then re-installing. But now I keep getting this error message....
I have tried everything they recommended, and made sure the settings were correct. But I keep getting the error. Can anyone help me with this part?DirectX(R) encountered an unrecoverable error.
Check the DirectX(R) FAQ for possible solutions.
