CoD 2 damaged my hearing!

I got CoD 2 for Christmas and spend the next few days going through the campaigns. About two thirds of the way through the game, on one of the noisy levels (tons of artillery and explosions and gunfire at all times) my ears suddenly started hurting like hell. I couldn't play even at the lowest volume for hours because my ears hurt. I can hear as well as before, but I can only take like half the volume I used to use comfortably or my ears start hurting almost immediately. Also, sometimes my left ear feels like it needs to pop, like when you go down a mountain or long elevator, which sucks. Just a friendly warning to be careful when playing CoD 2... don't play too loud or too long in one sitting.

Man, I should go on Geraldo or something .

Re: CoD 2 damaged my hearing!

You most likely know this already, but if you believe to have suffered from a ear trauma be very carefull around loud noises. Go to a doctor, have him check you out and have him give you his professional opinion. I have been involved in a airdrum breaking experience myself and have come from it without any problem(until today at least). If you go about this the wrong way you could face tinnitus(constant high pitched noise) or permanently reduced hearing, that is NO JOKE.

Edit: I realized I linked to some crazy vitamin supplement url. Wikipedia is most likely a better source for info.

What he said. It happened to my brother with his loud music and headphones.
