cod2 , any good ?
I need something new to play (online only),hows COD2 ? Military FPS is my kinda game , been big into all the BF series. System is 64 venice @ 2.1 , ram 2 gig . 7600gt , will that have enough jam to play well ? Are there many North American servers ? What don't you like about it ? Any good mods ? Need something to do till Forgotten Hope or Eve of Destruction comes out. If not cod2 what else would you recommend? (Still not sure about Armed Assault, demo hasn't initially wowed me like bf2 did , but thats for another thread) Is there lots of TG community support ? Or is it getting old & interest fading ?
thanks for the feedback & and help

Re: cod2 , any good ?
CoD2 is good game. When you play it at TG it turns into an awesome game. There are tonnes of servers and there are hundreds of mods. The mod that we run on our server is designed to increase realism and promote teamwork and communication. You can read about it here. It is one of the most unique mods out there and everyone that has experienced it has said good things about it.
CoD at TG is going strong. We play on Wednesdays and Sundays and on those days the server is packed. We have a strong fan base who show up for every game night and we also have regulars from other Tactical Realism clans. CoD2 is available on Steam so there really isn't any excuse for not buying it!

Re: cod2 , any good ?
It's much smaller and slower paced than the battlefield games, so if your looking to hop into a panzer and wreak havok, this won't be the game for you. If, however, you want some tense moments, some good firefights and team co-ordination, then this is the game you want! It's pretty visual aswell, smoke effects are awesome.. and if you can run the game online in dx9 mode, all the better. Sound is top notch too.
On our server, theres little run-n-gun. We have it modded out so you have to pull up iron sights to be effective. You CAN shoot from the hip if the situation requires, but you won't have much luck landing many, if any, hits. So when I say slower paced, I mean this. You don't have folks running around and shooting willy nilly. Instead you have people taking aim and making it count.
Aside from CoD2, I'd recommend Red Orcestra, but that's my own personal taste. It isn't big in TG anymore and the public servers leave much to be desired.|TG|Clodhopper - Intelligence is the key, but I'm locked out!

Come join us. Your system will more then handle it. We are running the WRM mod which you will DL as you load onto our server. Each map will automatically DL also as it comes up. We have a very good player base. Check out this article.

Re: cod2 , any good ?
Yea TG way of play is the only way to go which has had a downside for me ,it made poe2 uninteresting unless in a TG squad. So the no voip in cod eh ? If not can pup players join in TS/VENT channel ?

Re: cod2 , any good ?
There is in-game VOIP for CoD2, and it works quite well. We still use the TG teamspeak server to taunt. =P

You don't have to use TS to play. I don't usually have TS on when I play.
