Skipping the intro movies
The video logos and intro movie when you start CoD2 cause my computer to hang. They used to play for a while, long enough to skip them, but now it happens immediately. Is there a way to bypass them completely with a launch option or something?

Re: Skipping the intro movies
When I load the multiplayer I go straight to my game screen. I have no videos. Which one are you talking about, SP or MP.

Single player. Have you never even tried it?

Re: Skipping the intro movies
I have played maybe 10 min of SP. MP on our server is awesome.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
I think it's worth going through at least once, but then I've always enjoyed single player better in general.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
MP on our server is nothing like SP. We have a realistic mod running that give for extreme tactical play.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
And to add to the above.
Don't be afraid that you want be any good or not good enough. These guys let anybody play as long as they obey the rules as stated in the readme's. I'm not very good and they let me play and I have a lot of fun. If you play tactical its about team work and everybody can play a part. I take point sometimes and draw fire so the crack shots can see where the enemy is. So come on and give us a try and you will not go back to single player again. The Old Guy

Re: Skipping the intro movies
I would love to, but I get very frustrated when I do not do well, and I do not enjoy myself. I was never able to get any good at Day of Defeat so I have no hopes for CoD2. The only game I can do well in online is Counter-Strike Source. Thanks, though.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
Please do not give up. Give it a try. If you like CSS then you can do CoD2.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
The gameplay is not even remotely similar, though.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
Hard to compare the two unless you give it a try.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
Where would I go? Is is the server listed in the announcements section? The stats graphic looks like it says the average number of players is less than half a player, but maybe that's a percentage.

Re: Skipping the intro movies
The average number of players will be low but that is because we only play on Wednesday and Sunday nights. On those nights the server is packed. The reason that we play only two nights a week is because Tactical Gamer hosts many different games and many of our Cod2 players participate in those games on other nights of the week. You can find our server IPs by following this link: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/call-du...ncements-sops/
Everything in that sub forum that I linked you to is required reading. We ask everyone who wants to play on our server to read through that at least once in order to optimise the quality of our games. You will find that our server is a little different from other servers out there. In fact, for many regulars the TG CoD2 server is the only place they play.

Okay, thanks. I might give it a try.
