Ironsites
Should they be used at all times? Or is it okay to clear rooms without your weapon up?
IMO, a player should always be using his ironsite while engaging. There do come those times when they aren't used because of a quick CQB situation, but I think that the player should at least be in the motion of bringing them up while doing so.
What is your take on the use of Ironsites?Vir-Chew-All!!

Re: Ironsites
I play by the rule of whenever your shooting, your sights are up. Even in close combat or if i'm surprised, I bring them up to shoot. That's just what I consider tactical.

Re: Ironsites
From a technical standpoint, I tried to make hip shooting beyond ten or twelve feet an unreliable and inaccurate way to shoot. The groups get HUGE. This should help to make anything beyond short-range (CQB) hip shooting practically worthless.

Re: Ironsites
I agree with what Strag says. I saw it happen alot last night people being killed when they tried to shoot from the hip. I try and clear a building with my sites up. But then again I train that way.

Re: Ironsites
i dont know how many kills i have had from hipshots. Sniper turns and fires, dont even bother with scope at 10feet. I may not kill you but will atleast give myself an extra second to bring my pistol up and pwn you...But i agree iron sites should be used at all times, not only does it bring your accuracy up but makes you walk so you can move quieter
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: Ironsites
I've had occaisions when I fired from the hip...mostly CQC where I was surprised enough to just fire in fear. My default is always iron sites. I think it'd be quite clear who is relying on spraying and praying and I have to say I haven't seen too much of that on our server. yay.

Re: Ironsites
It would be nice if you couldn't fire unless you were looking through your sites.

Re: Ironsites
At certain ranges, iron sights just become redundant. If you're not sighting and an enemy rounds the corner about three feet in front of you, you will die if you try to sight before firing.

That's why I try and pull my sites up while engaging.

Re: Ironsites
As far as getting shot by a ship shooter before you can bring your sights up, I have to argue with that. Almost 100% of the time i'm able to pull my sights up and then fire and still kill the person. Unless your using the sniper on our server, it really only sticks you behind by half a second to a second. It's usually not a issue in the end.
