COD 4 Collectors Edition Craptastic

Firstly let me say how utterly disappointed I was with this.

piddly little book that shows some piss poor pictures.
bradyguide which is in PDF format and passworded so you can't burn it to CD etc to save it.
if you lose it or have a harddrive failure its gone. you can't download it again.

the entire package is utterly rubbish. And to add insult to injury the xbox version apparently got a DVD.

and the one thing i wanted to do(print it) i can't.

I already knew what was in the collectors edition before I even went to buy COD4, thats why I bought the regular version. Did you not do any research?

When I went to Best Buy to pick it up they first tried to sell the Collectors Edition, I asked around and they had 41 copies of the regular in the back. I got one of those and saved 10 bucks. Sneaky Best Buy.

apparently not.

ah well lesson learned.. i'll just have to find a way around the damn block on the pdf by screen capping each page on the laptop and saving it in ps3. bunch of wankers are worried about theft.. its gonna happen anyways now stop screwing with the honest folks in the process is all i ask.

Most games today, their collectors, or limited editions really are not special anymore. Nothing that great. Only thing I've gotten that was really neat, but also very expensive was Halo3. Everything else "limited" has not been very limited or special.

I have collector's editons for two games (Need for Speed MW and Carbon), both have very meager extras I shouldn't have paid for. Literally minutes of extra content that I can probably find out from playing the game itself or youtube....There's no more "special" in getting those special/collector's/limited editions anymore...

And now I know not to get the collector's edition for CoD4 now...

Apparently the Xbox360 CE included a DVD about SAS operations since WWII and how they've changed and all stuff like that.

nope cause if i did i'd have given this collectors editon a wide berth.

just browsed the pdf file and noticed the damn guide is for the xbox 360. one part talks about the r4 button or somesuch. since i'm not home i cannot confirm the exact name of said button.

yep only collectors editions i've got worth their salt have been the ones from Anet for Guild wars. bought a vanilla version and the collectors. was my plan the entire time and i'm glad i did just that.

i've emailed a complaint indicating my disdaint regarding their shoddy collectors edition content and can't help but feel i've been physically abused in the process.. i don't expect a reply.

Blizzard CEs are nice. The CEs of Crysis, STALKER, HellGate London, and The Witcher are also excellent.

Unfortunately for us STALKER and The Witcher only had a CE version available in Europe.
