Punkbuster?

The problem, about 11:30 on 11/17/07, seems to be happening everywhere. There are mixed reports on how to solve it, but basically if you join a server and kill someone or are on the server for more than 2 minutes, you are PB kicked. Any suggestions?

Re: Punkbuster?

Currently people are having issues connecting to Evenbalance to download the PB update. When it's available again, run PBsetup and update your system. You may not be able to do it this evening.

Re: Punkbuster?

I had to do the update about 20 times and then it finally told me to stop pestering it and that kicks were until further notice.

Re: Punkbuster?

tried using the in-game pb command, but it didn't work. However, using pbsetup worked just now. current version is 2.009 or something like that.

Re: Punkbuster?

On a few servers this morning I saw messages in the console saying "PB Server distress..cannot confirm data" or something like that. PB may have intermittent issues also. I concur with machowner that the pbsetup is the most consistent way to get updated. The auto updates have not worked well for me for the last few months for BF2 either.

Re: Punkbuster?

I have been using PBsetup for years, for some reason the auto updates have never been trustworthy IMO.. Although last nights great timing for an update is not the first time PB has released an update during peak gaming hours. Which once again flooded their servers with people trying to update all at once.

You would think that releasing an update on Saturday at midnight would be the last time frame for updates for a MP game. I would think, maybe Monday morning at 9am giving the company a whole day/week to fix problems.. "Naw, lets release at midnight, while we are at home in bed".. Another teampoint for PunkBuster

I had the same thought, doesn't like the best time for a release.
