We've all got issues...Lets talk!
Ok, I'd to see problems discussed in this thread. No complaining about server types and modes, but suggestions for rules to enhance the gaming experience.
I'll start things off. Airstrikes/choppers/203/nades in the first half a minute of gameplay are bogus. Everone spawns at the same place and time so it is easy for a stupid noob to kill-whore and recycle airstrikes at the beginning of multi-round matches. There needs to be a rule against this. Discuss!

Apparently I'm getting a bit frustrated at grenade spam in the very beginnings of a S&D match, on a small map.
A lot of issues will be getting fixed very soon. UAV, Airstrikes/ and Choppers are more than likely going to be X'ed on the S&D+Sab Hardcore server, they are just too overpowered for the gamestyle we are trying to play on this server. |

Shortly air strikes/choppers/uav will be a thing of the past.

Samething happened last night while playing a different map. Of course that was after repeated spam nades at the very beginning of the round. Blowing up the two or three cars right in the spawn area. Possible the worst place for them, but maybe they didn't think of this nade spamming when placing the cars.

Spawn times need to be increased on both servers. Not sure how many times I mention this and no one pays attention. Sabotage + instant respawn = lame. Respawn should be 15-20 seconds.
How hard is it to add set scr_sab_playerrespawndelay 15 to your config files? Also I believe you have the setting hotpotato set to 1 for Sabotage, which usually confuses people. Maybe set it back to zero? If you want the map up, it's just scr_game_forceuav 1. Last edited by Zoopy_T; 11-26-2007 at 08:36 AM. |

Great start. I don't mind the UAV partly because it is intel only and partly since I roll with the jammer perk on all my configs, it gives me an advantage for someone to use an enemy uav and me be where they don't expect

I haven't had a lot of time to play the multi player yet but from my experince in other similar games and COD 2 there definately needs to be some changes. Rules are a good start but actual removing elements of the game are necessary such as the above mentioned airstrike etc.
I think 15 seconds for respawn could also be increased to say 30 seconds? Basically the game play needs to be slowed down, make players play tacticaly and reward teamwork over rambo tactics. Larger maps should help in this area as well. I know that is really vague but until I can get some more time in I will hold off with specific suggestions.

the problem is long respawn times cause boredom. I don't want to sit for thirty seconds because some dude ganked me from across the map with a single bullet. I mean search and destroy, when I played on the tg server so many people where bored because someone dropped them as they left their spawn. teamwork can't be forced either and it becomes an exercise in frustration and annoyance on hardcore when I have no way of communicating position to teammates or knowing their position. hardcore needs the map back, a compass, always up team member names, or universal area names put in the game to help beginners.

I think some of the maps are poorly desiged. If you can nade from one spawn to the other, the map's a no go. If the strategy that provides most kills is running towards the enemy and chucking a nade onto a sweet spot, the map is bad.

In-game comm needs to be enforced, perhaps with the point leader taking "squad leader" duties each round - at least on the smaller maps we're playing now. As maps get bigger (aren't there some 48player options?) I think we'll have to look at separate TS channels for each team.
Would be nice if there were a mod to graft BF/POE-style squads into the game. It's a great game so far, except for the lack of cohesive TG-style gameplay. |

Some thoughts from my playtime so far:
1) Reduce server population. The best 'quality' games I've had so far have been those with lower server counts. 6 vs 6 or 8 vs 8 would be a good starting place. 2) Longer spawn times. I know this has been addressed above, but I have to add my agreement here. The longer people have to sit out when they die, the more they will value their life. This encourages people to work together and play more tactically. Those are the two things outside of removing UAV/Airstrike/Helicoptors that will have the biggest impact on game play right now I think.
