CoD4 Supporting Member Slots

We have initiated a reserve Supporting Members slots for CoD 4. There will be two supporting member slots. To access the password you need to go here.

*updated for CoD4

Do this first.

Do this second, if the private slots are not in use, you should be able to connect just fine.

Re: CoD2 Supporting Member Slots

If you don't know how to use this password effectively.
You can input the pw in various fashions.

1.) You can input the pw into the console of the game.
By hitting the `~ key which is above the Tab key and in front of the 1 key.
While the game is active on your pc.
Then enter password a space and then the password
e.g. : ~password whateverthepasswordis

2.) You can download a program called hlsw. Which will let add the server ip and the SM password. While also having the feature to connect to the designated server.

You can download this program here Link -> Clickable HLSW Link

SM'ers make sure your reading this thread for when the server is full, we offer 4 private slots, and the link to the password is in first post.

If the game is like most games, when you join with the password, even if the server is empty, that takes up one of the reserved slots.

If I put the pass in my as a command line parameter, I fear I will be taking up a reserved slot, even when the server is NOT full.

Re: CoD4 Supporting Member Slots

Yes Sc1ence that would be my understanding too and is what I said in my other post ref the server being full.

It is be-holden to us all to clear these reserved password covered slots as soon as possible so as to make them available again.

Is there a reason why we are not up at 32 slots???
Is it choice or server kit limitation??

Thanks again Bubba

Re: CoD4 Supporting Member Slots

32players on maps that arent designd for it really was just a frag fest. 18 is alot easier and better for our game style.

We do have 2 servers.

I believe you can also do the command:

+connect XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX +password XXX

instead of doing it in two lines.

Re: CoD4 Supporting Member Slots

You can add that line in your game short cut as well. would look something like this:

F:\COD4\iw3mp.exe + connect 70.84.146.205 + password xxxxxx

again, not to sound like a broken record, but if I put that in my command line EVERY time I connect, I think I would be using up 1 of the 2 slots, even if the server was not full.
I does not seem wise to suggest that people connect using the private pass as a command line parameter in thier shortcut unless we know it wont take up the slots if they are not needed.
how do we know the maps were not designed for more people?

Re: CoD4 Supporting Member Slots

Hey Sc1ence, I wouldn't say the maps were not designed for more players, but more along the lines of the maps were designed for a different style of gameplay with that many players. Admins are trying to alter gameplay by limiting players, not neccessarily that the maps can not handle the players.

Is there anyway to increase the number of reserved slots? 2 doesn't seem like it would be enough.

Im not entirely sure how it works, not sure if it bypasses them if the server isnt full or if only when its full. Guess we need to test that.

we had full servers of 24+ for the first 2 weeks and people complained about to many people so we reduced the server size.

Re: CoD4 Supporting Member Slots

The gameplay is way to hectic with more than 10 a side.
