Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
msdz your probably correct that adding a HC TDM server would attract more players to TG. However it may not attract people who really want to play the TG way. Second it would be rather difficult to play TDM tactically and hence demonstrate the principals of TG. It wouldn't really work towards creating an environment that demonstrates what TG is working towards. Sorry thats just my opinion on that.
I think if the ratio is 1:4 or 1:5 for S&D vs. other game modes it wouldn't be that bad. You could play for a few hours without seeing anything but S&D. If map voting was enabled (not a big fan of that) then players could skip any non S&D maps. Though I do hate playing one or two rounds on a map with the constant map votes ongoing only to start a new map.

Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
I have never played "Team" Death-Match...but it can't be much different than Free-for-All, which is fun for a few minutes to blow off steam, but then just sucks. I doubt you will ever see a dedicated TG server used in this capacity..I would certainly vote against it. But a once-a-week type of thing for an hour or so/ Maybe that would be fun...

Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
I know it is not the TG way cause HC TDM doesn't support good tactics or strategy. As I stated already, the only possible way of having a tactical HC TDM would be if everybody was on TS. which I have seen this done and worked rather well until people start leaving and new comers arrive that just want to run N gun. Friendly fire turn on with a server usually means the server stays at a tactical level some, if the friendly fire is off then there is no control whatsoever. Everybody starts the spamming with nade launchers, RPG's, and frag nades.

Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
i was wondering why not domination because its pretty hard to keep 3 or even two of the obj so there would be action all the time. also you could be tactical by doing so like including trying to sneak up to other obj that the enemy is paying attention too. sry if it isnt worded too good i was kinda rushing it.

Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
I played some rounds of "domination" and it was reasonably horrible...but "if" you can get the guys on your side to actually listen and you get a hold on 2 of the 3 points, you can actually play that reasonably tactically...especially on larger maps...
Maybe that is not a bad thing to consider Bubba..
We played a few rounds on Overgrown and it was about a million times better than CTF was...
I don't know..I am just afraid that when the majority of the player base logs on and sees something other than S&D, I think the server will empty out.
The TG server seems to be "known" for TG-style S&D...I think that is a good thing

Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
The thing is it basically stays empty now.

except at nights when everyone is home from work/school and through with dinner, then non-SMs can't ever get on :P

Re: Server 1 (Hardcore) Gametypes
Actually I agree that domination has a chance of being played tactically. At least you have points of reference unlike some of the other modes. I played it a while back on TG and there was some really great teamwork and comms going on. I think Blackmain/Mkoll was on at the same time and we both were impressed by the teamwork. However there was a good deal of helicopter and airstrike ownage that made our job easier (the one downside to the re-spawn is the increase in strikes)
