Discussion: Call of Duty Archives / Call of Duty 4 - General Discussion - 1.6 Map Suggestions - The only thing that needs to be discussed, in my opinion, about these new maps

    Exclamation 1.6 Map Suggestions

    The only thing that needs to be discussed, in my opinion, about these new maps is how far is too far up for defense?

    From what I know about the maps,

    Creek- Should be straight forward about how far up defense goes. The map is very basic.

    China Town- Same exact map as one of the French maps from COD2 (Carentan? It's been forever since I've played...), so same rules should apply for it.

    Broadcast- I think this map is my favorite, but it'll be the hardest to decide on how far the defense can push. From my personal experience with it, the defense should be able to defend the WHOLE building. This makes sense to me because both objectives are in the building, and it's obvious choke points are at the building entrances. The map seems like it's almost designed to be like a "hold the fort" map. Just my opinion.

    I'm not going to mention the last map for obvious reasons (if you've never played it, my reason is that it sucks. Not tactical imo.)


    Those are my insights.... discuss?

    Well the steam update is out now. Guess people cant wait 2 days for their patches eh.

    In the scheme of things it wasn't that big of a deal, but it shouldn't have happened and it was exacerbated by a lack of communications from Valve/Steam.

    the last map that sucks, well its just a shorter boat map. Same concept, narrow approaches, lack of usable cover, and really only one way to get to the objective. I'm not sure but at least in the new map a single airstrike will not kill 90 to 100% of the opposing team.

    Heh, Killhouse is really fun with about 5 players and knives only, for about 15 minutes. That is my only experience of the map so far . I have yet to try Creek and Chinatown.

    Hmm, I wonder if they could make a mod where the only way of killing is by direct impact, like a potato throwing mod...or water balloons...

    I think I need to play less on public servers.
