Re: In Game Problem
what i plan on upgrading my comp to is a Pentium Core2Duo 6600 or better.. maybe the 6750.. and a XFX Geforce 8800 GS XXX Edition. video card all depends on price though.. I'm poor and cheap only reason i have a 6600gt-oc right now is because a friend felt sorry for me and gave me his old one.he was gonna give me 2 of them, but my mobo doesnt support SLI.. so yeah.. go intel chipsets

Re: In Game Problem
Smurf, i put my whole system together for like 1000 bucks, I would highly recommend the 4870 video card like i got. Dude it is amazing the things you can see when you have a good card. And like i said, no lag or anykind of issues with it so far, even during airstrikes. Hell i can even run away from one now. LOL

Re: In Game Problem
Yeah.. i wish i had that kinda money to put a new computer together. I would kill for one, (know anyone you want offed?).... I have plans to build one, but i have to wait for income tax season again. Then I'll have a monster system.. But Radeon cards.. i'm not a big fan of them. i've had a couple and they just couldnt compete with a lower end Nvidia card. But we'll see how things go.

Re: In Game Problem
DUDE , if you could see what the card can do and at what temp it runs and fps, you would be drooling.
Dont rule them out, they have made some major improvements and from what i understand, this card kicked a whole lotta arse against other so called top of the line cards out on the market right now.

Re: In Game Problem
indeed, it beats the GTX 280 which costs like twice as much.
plus if you were gonna invest that much cash in a 280, I'd rather get the 4870x2

Re: In Game Problem
Ok....maybe Radeon has made some imporvements.. Might be time for a look into them again. Hell i went from using AMD CPUs to using INTEL and a world of difference i've seen so far from that change. of course I did upgrade from a AMD Athlon XP 2200 to a Pentium D 805.. a dual core cpu vs a single core yeah gonna see a lot of difference hehe. and upgraded from a GeforceFx 5600 agp to a PCI-e 6600..

Re: In Game Problem
Last night when everyone was on, and bombs and nades and smoke and airstrikes and everything was all happening at once, my fps never dropped below 70 and that was on downpour to boot.
Newegg.com has some of the best deals me and Kdaddy could find. And they shipped in a very timely manner, cant say the same for UPS but hey you know.
I told Kdaddy to come up with something that was gonna work really really well and really really fast and trust me, HE DID NOT LET ME DOWN. Even the processor, even thought it is only the 3.16Ghz is super super fast and everything runs really smooth. I have only had one lag issue with this new rig and for some reason it was on the 13th practice server and only in one spot on the map. Havent quite figured that one out yet , but in game with a fully loaded server, I dont think Kdaddy could have done any better for the money. Plus playing on this 42 in 1080p LCD doesnt hurt either. LOL
Have Kdaddy look you up some parts when you get the cash, He impressed me!!!!

Re: In Game Problem
Well, the TV is on one side of the living room and I sit on the couch on the other side. But it is a small apt, so prolly about 7 or 8 feet away.
Why do you ask?

Re: In Game Problem
i look at newegg.com , tigerdirect.com and mwave.com just about every day drooling over parts i want for my computer. Unfortantly.. money is my issue or i'd have a nice beast by now.
if you didnt know about mwave.com they are a prety good site, i've gotten a few things from there as has Whisper. Sometimes they are able to beat newegg and tigerdirects prices which is hard to do sometimes but they can.. and its usualy on CPU's and RAM. they are also the ONLY site i've ever seen that before they send something to you you can have them unpackage it test it and make sure its working so that there is less chance of a D.O.A. when it gets to ya.
