Future of COD4?
Ok, I know that it'll be around for the next 5 years just like COD 1 has (Heck I went on cod 1 and people still play multiplayer!)
But, since COD 5 is coming out very soon, will we either:
A: Lose a good amount of Tards etc.
B: Lose a good amount of people in general.
C: Since Treyarch is making COD 5 it'll be a flop and nobody will get it. (Doubt it)
I'd preferably stick with the Modern warfare Genre, so I may get far Cry 2. But I'll still play COD 4.
Your thoughts? To all PC Gamers who play COD4 and BF2142 and Ace Online. I might be doing machinima making with Pinnacle Studios 12.

Re: Future of COD4?
Very strange topic from someone who only has 17 posts here and fielding questions to determine the communities opinion....
But any who...
Never fear we will continue to be here. In fact We still do run CoD2 servers and need to get that game back into rotation as a nice flashback from time to time.

Re: Future of COD4?
As Superfast says plus I hope the game will be able to be played in a bigger battle field arena without the need for all these very false imo demarcation lines.
Rules of engagement yes but the maps should be free to rome just like the real world.
Bigger maps should make this so........ I cross my finger CoD5 will be so."I like a man who grins when he fights"

i'll probably stick with CoD4, not sure my machine will be able to handle the new one and I can't rebuild for like a year now.

Re: Future of COD4?
In the real world you wouldnt go bounding all over the country side looking for a bomb site. Intel would pinpoint your objective and your mission would be a 5 paragraph operations order telling you exactly what you would be required to do. And I am positive it would state what your limits are so that you dont cross other unit's lines and become a fratricide. And that is what we try to maintain with the tactical realism server. If you enjoy run and gun and total open maps with no restrictions that allow for players to run straight to your spawn and kill you before you even get the bomb then there are many pub servers that allow that behavior.
CoD4 still uses the Quake 4 engine and so does CoDW@W. You should be fine with your AGP card.
Its the true CoD5 that is planned for 4th Quarter 09 that will most likely stress your system. Can you say SPACE MARINES??

Re: Future of COD4?
Haz as I'm sure u have noticed my game style can not by any stretch of the imagination be associated with Run & Gun.
It is you that is talking about bounding all over the country side not me.
That's why I speak about bigger maps that way there would be more time for defences to get properly set, ambushes made etc and as I said JUST LIKE THE REAL WORLD.
Don't make assumptions or put your words down as portending to be as mine.
I acknowledge that CoD4 because it was made for X-box & other console type units it has small map sizes and therefore seems to have been aimed at the younger players who all seem to prefer the run gun mode of play on their console units.
That's why I like to play ArmA, That's why I play on other MORE imo realistic world CoD4 servers than here.
Yes it's good to play with the TG players and I enjoy that very much, that's why I return from time to time.
I just don't find that the lines you have drawn "cock my gun" at all and as I have said I hope CoD5 has the bigger maps with it.
Surely then you won't find the need to draw these invisible lines?
Ps I try to adopt a realistic way of playing and as such don't charge spawn to spawn, seldom fire through walls, won't use a pistol to shoot map end to map end etc."I like a man who grins when he fights"

Re: Future of COD4?
Well seeing as to how COD4 is my FIRST "FPS" game that I have ever really played, I will buy COD5 and if it sucks then it sucks and will continue to play COD4. I agree 100% that it is the fellow gamers that kept me here. I enjoy very much getting to know all of you, hell most of you I like better than my own family. With the exception of Kdaddy, my LITTLE bro. LOL Yeah right. Couldnt be here without him.
But with all that being said, we all need to realize that if it is the people that play here, that is keeping us playing here, we need to be showing each other a little more repsect and offer some assistance to someone if they are struggling at this game.
Just My Opinion....

Re: Future of COD4?
My sentiment's exactly, although the fact that we have alot of younger people that play this title including myself. They have a tendency to play mostly for kills or glory and not for the objective, speed and planning we strive for in most if not all of our TG titles.
Back to the topic, I will try out this game. I doubt I would switch to it primarily though.
