Re: KillCam, for those what the heck? Moments
hey, anyone know if there's a command or something to have the game record a demo of the killcams?
I think that could be neat.

Re: KillCam, for those what the heck? Moments
Even if someone has an uber awesome hiding spot, kill cam will give it away in a sense. This forces people to go to the same spot twice, i like that, makes for a lot more interesting round and a lot slower round.

I know I'm a little late on the subject, but personally, I don't like the cam in S&D. You wonder how you got killed. Funny thing about war games, bullets and fragmentation grenades hurt (And occasionally getting hit with a flash/stun grenade kills you at full health? I found that out last night). I don't like having to change spots every single round, because the people I killed the first round know exactly where I am. You got shot/detonated, you're dead, so just move on.

It is only a weekly trial basis.
Just added a twist to give the player base something to comment about here in the forums.

Please, get rid of the damn thing. I'm a VERY lazy person, so as stated, I do NOT like moving every round.

Re: KillCam, for those what the heck? Moments
Personally, I would like it left on. I have learned of a few new spots for my sniper kit, which I just recently started playing. Having the kill cam enabled can help me to be a better help to my team. It's nice to be able to learn from the more experienced snipers on how best to cover the teams flanks on offense, or where to set up on defense to target the enemy approach.
Yes, I also use it to find out how someone keeps being able to kill me when I have no clue where they are at. That way I can either avoid that area or find a way to flank that spot.
I don't buy the "I don't want people to know about my 1337 hiding spot" argument. If people use the kill cam to learn from, the game play can only get better. I know I'm not the best player on the server and even the greenest n00b can teach me something. If someone finds my secret hiding spot and kills me, I can watch the kill cam to see how they flanked me. With that knowledge, I can then find a better way to defend my spot or find a new spot.
Like I said, the game play will only get better if us regulars use the cam as a learning tool. And that in turn will make squad leaders (Bronco, Medi8r, Hazmat, and many more) have to learn or invent new attack and defense plans.
But, thats just my $0.02.

And a very well educated, and thought out 2 cents I might add. ESPECIALLY FOR A STONER!!! LOL
But i agree with MINDKILL, since this thing has been left on for a while, game play has become a lot more fun. Its a lot easier to have fun when you arent dead in the first few seconds of each round. And by learning where I have been getting shot from, it has done just that, allowed me to move around the map more freely knowing where to look for folks at. Yeah I still poke my head or whole dang body around corners I shouldnt, so dont worry, everyone will still have a chance to blow me off the face of the planet, but now at least it isnt happening in the first few seconds of each map

Kill cam is a test which is about to end. This is a hardcore server and as such will stay that way.

Re: KillCam, for those what the heck? Moments
Another thought that popped into my head today. The death cam is currently set to view all players that are still in play. Any chance or is it even possible to set it so that you can only view your own team?

Maybe I am retarded, but I don't follow you. Could you please elaborate Bubba?
Yes, what you describe is the deathcam not in "Free" mode or the default deathcam view. I would prefer to have freecam left on. At least I can use that in lieu of the kill cam to learn maps, strategies and tactics from the more seasoned players.

Re: KillCam, for those what the heck? Moments
What he means is that hardcore servers don't have a kill-cam. It's going to stay that way.
THe thing is though, that you can always go to other servers to check out the maps, or you can go to that boundaries post and there is an overview of every map. You're almost 55, or you are 55, right? You should know the maps by now.
Now, the way the death cam is set right now, we might as well still have the kill-cam up. It gives away your position. Now if y'all are happy the way it is, well then, majority rules and there's nothing I can do. Think about it though.TG Primer

Free spec is more for admins then it is for free roaming to find players who killed you.
But SHHHHHHHHH! You didnt hear that from me.
