But, this isn't just any old HC server. This is the TacticalGamer HC S&D server, where teamwork wins out over K : D ratio's. Besides, I have been on many HC servers that have the killcam turned on, and as far as I know, having the killcam turned on does not affect the ranked status of the server.

Yes, I am level 55 and I do know the maps. But, thats not to say that there is nothing more to learn from other players, especially on the TG servers. The gameplay here is radically different from other HC S&D servers because teamwork is the key whereas on other servers it's all about who sits at the top of the score list.

If it is a case of 'majority rules', the killcam should be turned back on. I have only seen a few people say that they would like it turned off. Most people I have talked to are sad and disappointed the killcam was turned off. Unless of course, Bubba has been peppered with PM's/IM's/TS conversations requesting it be turned off.

I still just don't understand the 'its gives away my position' argument. You are happy having your skill level at this game remain static? You don't want to learn how to better support your team? You are not interested in being able to see if part of you sticks out around a corner, or that you glitch through a certain wall?

I understand that having the killcam turned on can cause all kinds of headaches for the awesome admin staff and that they may spend quite a bit of time admin'ing instead of playing. But, why not work at it for the short term to invest in the long term benefits of more skilled and educated players that will lead to more tactical and strategic game play? Perhaps a console message stating that "The killcam is enabled on this server to help educate our players, not as a reason to scream 'H4X0rz!'. Please view responsibly!" would lessen the impact on the admin staff?

I know I am probably beating a dead horse with my opinions, but I think this is something worth fighting for. And I think there are a lot of people that agree with me.

Im with you Mindkill, Just the little short time it was on, I learned a lot about where I was getting shot from and HOW I GET SEEN, GET SHOT, GET DEAD, when i thought there was no way i could be seen.

I would have liked for it to stay on as well, but Bubba makes the call and I am not going to question him.

If he feels like it can be turned on again without all the accusations that go along with it, then i am sure he will do what he thinks is right for the community.

If that is all that is holding you back Bubba, then lets discuss ways to make it happen. I just hate to have a few people ruin such a great tool for the rest of us. If the admins are already discussing the issue in some super-secret, 1337 forum that I don't have access to, then I apologize for beating on the proverbial horse.

But it brings me back to my original point about the killcam. Sure, you can get a better understanding of how to help your team by learning defensive positions, but 9 out of 10 people just want to know how they got killed. Bullets hit you in the face. It doesn't really matter from where or how. You died, get over it! How does knowing how you died help complete the objective? If you can provide me an answer to that question, seeing as it is also your argument, then I'll have nothing more to say. I don't know about the rest of you, but when the killcam was on, I switched my spot almost every round, so it really doesn't do the offense much good to learn defensive positions. The horse continues to be beaten for another day.

10 out of 10 get killed by being seen and then shot. For many players that die a lot they most likely would like to improve so they dont get seen, then shot, then die. Those players want to have a more enjoyable time killing rather than be killed. For those I put this together:

Step one: Getting over being shot.
Step two: Kill cam only shows your failure not a better spot to shoot from.
Step three: Rethink your actions and learn not to do that movement to said area since you got killed there its a good bet that player will be there again waiting with sites ready and trigger primed.
Step four: Slow down and check all your angles. Make sure you have at least 90 degrees of cover to fall back to once you get fired upon.
Step five: Use slow steady movements and scan your area or sector of fire.
Step six: Sign up for a TGU class of instruction to better your ability
Step seven: Slow down and communicate with your team where you are going and what you see and what you shoot.
Step eight: And this is the most important one: SLOW DOWN!

Kill cam can't really show "secret spots" those spots are just new to you and until you can utilize them and know what to look for it wont do you any good. So just continue to practice and have fun. And in closing I have to say, or have I said this before...Slow Down.

And where does one sign up for these classes???? Anything I can do to improve my game I am all for it.

Oh and by the way Haz, you made a comment here while back in a post about me not being the type of player that when the odds are against me , such as 4-6 defensive players left alive and me being last man standing on the offense, you didnt see me as the type to take all of them out and win the round or something like that. Well I did do it night before last on the chinatown map. LOL

I WANT TO BE THE TYPE OF PLAYER THAT CAN DO THAT ON A CONSISTANT BASIS!!! Now where do i sign up for those classes or practices????

Oh and I've been watching your progress...

Glad to see you back up to where you were before the move. Imagine what your game would be like if you hadn't of had all that time off!

Now I hate having to go against since you know where to look to find me!

    Let's see.. where to start...

Of course 9 out of 10 people (its actually 10 of 10) want to know how they got killed. If the killcam shows you that you glitch through a wall, it is very helpful. Take for instance, the following scenario:

The map was backlot and I was on the attacking team. I was in the process of moving to the B location and had made it through the broken wall on the B side of the 2 story central building. I crouched up against the wall of the building and the short sheet metal wall. All of a sudden, I was shot twice and killed with no-one that I could see around me. At this time, there was no killcam on the server and I had no idea how I was spotted. |TG|Mkoll was the one that killed me and he politely told me over chat that I had been sticking out (glitching) through the sheet metal wall. I lucked out that a responsible player took the time to tell me that I was glitching.
Most times, if you are glitching through something, people won't tell you. They just hope you go back to the same spot for another easy kill. With the killcam enabled, you would most likely be able to see that you were glitching, or that your foot or weapon was sticking out around a corner. If the killcam can educate you on how to stay alive longer, it helps your team.

Also, you stated that when the killcam was on, you changed position after every round. That helped your team by making you harder to predict and most likely keeping you alive longer to support your team. Thats been one of my points all along.

It does do an offensive team good to know defensive positions. It basically forces people to play the way HAZMAT outlined in his 8 steps by conditioning a player to SLOW DOWN and look for the enemy that may be around that corner, or behind that barrel.

I really liked your writeup HAZMAT and I think with a combination of the killcam and your "8 steps to surviving" the gameplay will get more strategic and tactical. You stated in step 6 that those that want to learn more should sign up for a TGU class. Since I have started playing here regularly around 6 months ago, I have only seen 1 series of classes offered. Perhaps we could use one day a month of the SM only days (if this happens) as a class?

And in closing, I would like to state to the admin staff: I am happy with the job that you do. I am not attempting to question any staff members decision or trying to be disrespectful. As a new Supporting Member, I am just trying to offer my opinion on how we can enhance the game we all love to play and to educate myself and anyone else that is willing to learn. If it is the final decision of the admin staff that the killcam will be left off despite my best arguments, then so be it. I will even supply the shoves to bury the horse.

Re: KillCam, for those what the heck? Moments

TGU Instructors can make it a monthly on going session.

We are looking to password the servers (click here) to support once a month TGU sesssions. It takes an informed player base to ask for instruction, classes or modules.

There was one TGU class but it had 3 modules and took 2 weeks to complete (1 Sunday for 2 weeks).

The biggest issue about your glitching can be mooted by looking at differences in pings and packet loss. And agreeing with the BOSS on this one it was making more players skeptical of the regulars on the server. There are people who hack and we as an admin team will find them eventually and get rid of them. Give us time.

Even I was called a hacker, a cheater, and someone who was using a multitude of scripts. Of course this didnt happen when I played under my |TG-13th| tags in game but while using one of my alias accounts. And trust me on this one I dont hack or cheat or have the desire to. I was an admin for CS:source on a very well know competitive clan and got stuck to be the hacker admin to watch players with the same hacks. It burned me out and will never ever play CS or install any hack for any reason even if sanctioned.

Again if you want TGU modules go look at the TGU boards for class requests.
