He has a link posted on how to properly remove your old drivers if you experience problems installing the new driver.

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
I have an EVGA card so I get my drivers from them. Here is how they say to install new drivers. It works for me.
Ok first thing is go to Guru3d and get Driver Sweeper or Driver Cleaner Pro
"Never let microsoft windows update install your video drivers for XP/Vista for mobo and display drivers."
Driver Sweeper "installer"
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655
Driver Sweeper "no install needed and this is what I use"
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1672
Driver Cleaner Pro
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745
First open up your C drive and you should see the NVIDIA Directory "unless you told it to install some place else", now open up the folder named WinVista64 or 32 "depending on your os" and you should see a driver Ver. folder 162.22 for example Leave this window open.
Vista
1. Right click on Computer---->Properties
2. Click on Device Manager
3. Expand Dislpay Adapters
4. Right Mouse Button over the Video card Name
5. Select Uninstall, Click Delete the driver software for this Device
6. Do not reboot
7. Now That Window I told you to leave open with the NVIDIA directory now Delete your Driver Vershion Folder Example 162.22 then empty recycle bin.
8. REBOOT
9. Restart in Safe mode, Use the F8 key while your rebooting to do so select Safe Mode.
10. Now run Driver Sweeper or Driver Cleaner Pro, "I personally use the Driver Sweeper that you just run no install"
11. Make sure you tell it to Remove your NVIDIA Display Drivers, once it is finished
Reboot. once Vista reboots it will just reinstall a genaric VGA adapter dont worry, at least its not the nvidia one.
12. Now Install the latest Video Drivers for your card. Your safest bet are the ones on the EVGA support Site.

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
Just downloaded and installed the eVGA version of the driver and was disappointed that the Physx driver wasn't included. Then I noticed kin3 has a link to the separate Physx driver from nVIDIA and am now downloading those drivers. (and how is it that a grandpa saw this before me?!? I must be slipping.
)
Has anyone installed the Physx drivers yet? If you have, have you noticed any difference? Do you still get stuck on a 3in tall curb, or a tiny little brick sticking out of a wall? Does anyone know how having the Physx driver run on the GPU will help? Does it just take the load of calculating physics off from the CPU?
Anyone got a good link to educate me on this subject?

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
Hope this doesn't have to do with the drivers...but my 7800 GTX card just blew up after the install. Drop'd my rig off at the mad scientist's place to upgrade and fix....keep you guys in the loop on what the diagnosis was.
I was in the middle of countdown last night and frag'd someone and the vid went all nintendo-ish on pixels...rebooted and even the bios splash screen and xp screen was all messed up.

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
In relation to my previous post:
I finally found the Physx control panel in my start menu, so it was installed. Just expected that stuff to be in the nVIDIA display properties. Anyhow, I really haven't noticed too much of a difference with the physics on the GPU. Except perhaps the concussion and heat wave from nades and weapon muzzles looks a bit better. Also, if anything, my framerate has went from an avg of 90 to 85 or a bit lower.
I found an article explaining Physx on the GPU over at Guru3D. I haven't read all of it, but this seems to be pretty in depth and still in layman's terms.
Ugh, that sucks man. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the drivers. Hope ya get it sorted out on the cheap.

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
MindKill I don't think the Physx is being coded for by the developers, therefore it is not much of any use as of yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
I switched to this driver when it was in beta and I received a really nice fps boost playing ARMA. It was noticeable. Didn't realized they had released the signed version yet.

Re: New Nvidia Drivers
Fried graphics card! Grats me!
Good news is I get a brand new one covered under warranty but they had to spend the last day rebuilding the raid controller and mirror. Should be back in the saddle Tuesday evening.
