PC running slow and no aero issue, help?
Hey, I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me, recently I shut down my PC, something I don't do super often, probably like 3 times a week, and on reboot, the thing is slow as a turtle and I can't get it to run Aero. I recently updated video card driver, but rolled it back 'cause of this but nothing changed, it seems like it's in safe mode but im not sure. Any help? Im on vista ultimate x64, appearance and settings has no option for Aero.

run spyware checking programs and/or defrag the drive

I run AVG every night and I defragged a couple days ago, I'll do it just in case though, cause im lookin at wiping my drive

Hey noodle, go into you appearance settings, right click on desktop, go to personalize, go to window color and appearance, open classic appearance for more color options, then make sure there it is in windows aero.
OR are you saying that it doesnt have the option for aero at all????

Start > Right click Computer > Click Properties> Click the link next to the system rating > Click "Update my score"
If that doesn't work:
Right click the desktop > Click Personalize > Click Display Settings > make sure Colors is set to 32 bit, not 16, then try what Gunner suggested.Contact Me ~ CoD Contact an Admin Forum ~ CoD Rules & SOPs

Yea, i figured out the problem, I modified some system32 files to use different themes and I deleted the Aero theme lol, i just reformatted, thanks anyways everyone...
on the bright side I recovered my lost HDD space from formatting so many times on XP, I got back to 186GB from 92GB!

Wish I saw this thread earlier. There are ways of recovering the Aero theme. But, congrats on the extra disk space. lol
