Communication plea
I know that I am technically a noobsauce on this server, but I have my share of experience. I've been playing this game on the 360 for a while now, and as some of you may know, I come from the Counter-Strike: Source and ArmA side of TG. I'm going to apologize in advance because this may or may not piss some people off. Now, except in a few cases, I've noticed that the comms are... Well, let's say not to par (which is funny, because Bronco plays here.
Hi, Bronco). They're virtually null. It is kind of disappointing, especially when I see so many TG tags on my own team. It is also slightly aggravating because it gets teammates killed. For example, the other day I asked if anybody was in a room on some map that I'm too retarded to remember. It might have been Vacant or something. I really don't remember. Anyhoo, I asked, "Is anybody in this room to the right? I am at 'blahblahblahwhereveriwas'." Nobody spoke up, so I fragged and cleared. I ended up fragging one of my own guys, and injuring another (thank god I have terrible aim). Don't get me wrong though, there are a handful of you that do communicate, and I'm not trying to lecture you. This is more of a plea than a complaint. Communication comes in the form of informing your teammates of where you are (because not everybody looks at the map), calling out targets, and calling out confirmed kills/teammates down (this would probably only apply to server 2). I'm done.. If you feel that I am out of line, please, let me know and we can discuss it... Or something. :P Thanks for your time.

Re: Communication plea
Great Post Delta. The comms come and go for some reason but whenever they are there people seem to do better. I also think that the game is more enjoyable when I hear what is going on elsewhere on the map. So even if I'm sitting at boring old alpha picking my nose with a grenade pin I can know whats happening on Bravo. Heres a couple pointers for those of you that don't seem to know what to talk about or when to say it.
1. Any Contacts- These can be visually seeing a person in a room or getting shot at from
rooftop above alpha.
Example: 'Contacts crossing road. 3 going to alpha. 1 sniper ran into back
house'
2.Enemy Down- When you kill someone let people know where he/she was. This can be
helpfull in many ways. If I'm pinned down by a sniper and someone kills him
I don't want to stay hiding behind my rock I wanna get back out there.
Example: 'Tango down back of DVD shop'
3.Where you are Taking the bomb- This one seems the most obvious on the surface but is
the most often screwed up comms that we get in game.
When you pick up the bomb remember that you just
became the squadleader and are expected to act as
such. You need to pick a site, A route to get there,
Where you would like your teammates to go, and if
comms tells you that you plan is FUBAR then its your
job to get a regroup and reformulate your plan. Most
just pick up the bomb and yell A or B. This is the bare
minimum and not very tactical. In the following example
you can do this on the run or you can sit back and
formulate your plan. Get creative it makes the game
more enjoyable.
Example: 'Taking the bomb Alpha. I need one Sniper in
Flowershop stopping them from flanking
across the road. 2 people to go thru cafe
and clear the back alley. The rest on me up
the middle thru courtyard.'
4.Let your Positions be heard- We can all see that you just got your head blown
off by Mose's deagle but what we can't see is
Where he killed you at. When you leave spawn and
pick your position please state your name and
defensive location. Most of the time your voice
will be recognized but some of us sound alike so
a name always helps. We can't remember all the
locations of 11 guys every time but if we do then
your death just gave us an edge that we didn't
have before. This also applies to change of
defensive location, entering buildings or open areas.
Example: 'Striker60 breaching back side of bravo'
5.Clearing- Once an area is deemed free of Enemie Combatants then let your teammates
know it.
Example: ' Alpha House Second Floor all clear'
6.Reporting In- Not alot of people use this but it can be helpfull. If your sitting somewhere
and you get no activity let us know. If I don't hear that Alpha is clear every
once and awhile and I'm guarding middle I tend to look over to alpha more
often than needed wondering if the guys that were there are dead or got
up and went elsewhere.
Example: 'Alpha House still clear. No contact yet.'
There are tons of reasons to communicate and only one reason not to. So if you happen to meet the sharp end of a 7.62 lets all hope you told us where we can find your corpse(and the enemy).

Re: Communication plea
Great posts guys! I've been rolling this subject around in my head for a while now. I have also noticed the increasing lack of comm's and teamwork lately and it's been making me go play other games because of the frustration.
I definitely agree we need more communication. Perhaps the idea listed in another thread of having a full minute pre-round planning sessions could help. As for me, I do my best to always call contacts, enemy down, bomb down and give an accurate location, but when I fail to hear my teammates respond, I get disheartened and clam up. Which doesn't help matters.
Any of us wearing the TG tag should ALWAYS be using comm's. Not only does it help the team, but it gives an example for new people on the server on how to communicate.
Remember, Teamwork is Contagious!
+rep for Delta. Striker would have gotten some, but I need to spread the love around apparently.

Re: Communication plea
Not taking up for anyone, nor am I condemning anyone, but as of late there are SOOOOOOOO many new players on the servers that just dont seem to care whether or not there is communication between their team mates.
I LOVE when a team is communicating and calling out contacts and calling out who is down where and so forth. This is what teamwork is all about!!!! You cant win a round or match or do anything without communication. Just my 2 cents worth.

I just keep my mouth shut cause when I say stuff like "Kampf is eggressing from the such and such corner into the bomb site" people are like what? lol.
Sorry I only play Hardcore!

Re: Communication plea
Dude, like Mindkill said, TEAMWORK IS CONTAGIOUS. You need to start communicating with these people, even if they're not. ESPECIALLY since you're in an IHS. Since you're one of the big men on campus, for lack of better description, the new guys, or pubbies WILL look up to you, and they WILL follow your lead (assuming they're not complete jackholes). You need to tell them to call out their contacts, where they're going, where they are, etc.
As soon as any of us jump on the server.. Let me rephrase actually. As soon as any of us are ALIVE, we should already be hearing a flow of communication. For example, who's grabbing the bomb, where you're going with it, and how you're going to go about it. Or where you're setting up D. I shouldn't be hearing shots without comms. That is a BIG issue. Again, not all of you are comm-less. Just, I hear shots, and nobody talks. Granted, there are some times where the heat of the moment disables you from communicating the contact to your teammates, but try to fire and push the talk button at the same time if possible.
By the way, Haz, thank you for re-addressing the whole rush-fest thing. I was going to post another topic tonight when I got home. I'll just add it into this post.
The rush-fest that I've seen since I've gotten here is amazingly disappointing, especially of TG'ers. It seems that somebody without a mic ALWAYS picks up the bomb, and runs in some random direction. Most of the team follows, and it's usually a funnel of death. There are a few who do have mics, and they just grab the bomb and hollar, "SMOKE AND RUSH B!!!!!". The bomb will rarely explode. Last I read though, if you're the bomb carrier, you HAVE to have a mic. Anyhoo, then there's a few players that just kind of run off to get kills and add up their K
ratio, even a couple TG'ers of whom I will not mention. Hell, I've even caught myself doing it a few times. This ALL leads back to the whole communication discussion that's happening right now. It's just... The quality of the server's communication was NOWHERE near what I expected from a TG server. It felt like TDM. :P Again, I'd like to reiterate that not all of you are comm-less. Thank you to those who are.
Please, let me remind you about the TG tag. The TG tag signifies that you have in-fact read ALL of the SOP's, and are agreeing to abide by them. Or at least that's how it used to be. I have not seen this. Now-a-days it just seems people throw it on because it looks cool. The TG tag also signifies that communication should be one of your deadliest weapons, along with your teammates.

Re: Communication plea
great posts guys....As for me I 95% of the time call my contacts and communicate with my team. The other 5% is when there are no more teammates alive. lol. Anywho it is extremely fustrating when I go to Alpha to defend and within a minute I usually expect to hear "They coming Bravo." or "Bravo is quiet." Or something of that matter. Also after about 60 seconds if nothing is going on at Alpha I will say Alpha quiet where are they guys? Also I will say that and then 10 seconds later they plant at Bravo. I usually keep up with hitting my escape key to see who is where but that puts me at risk even if I hit escape for a second. This communication thing is frustrating but you don't have to have a mic to communicate, except with the bomb, but a mic certainly does make it easier to communicate.

"Incoming fire has the right of way."

Re: Communication plea
No i think i talk to much, about the wrong type of things.
"Hey, watch ya wearing?"
But really, sometimes over communication is just as bad as lack there of. When more then one person is reporting contacts, especially at the beginning of the round it just sounds like "One person bomb sniper ran lots of bunch taking ice cream shop" Which doesnt make sense and is extremely confusing.... But yes communication is good!

Re: Communication plea
You want to keep that, "Hey baby... What'cha wearin'?" kind of stuff to dead talk. Keep alive comms pertinent to the game. Slack, keep those up dude. Don't worry that no one is talking back... Well, actually, worry. Tell their asses to start talking. But keep up the comms. In my opinion, admins should start kicking for those who refuse to communicate, but that's just me. It's not my server though, so I'm not trying to tell you how to run it. Just my opinion.

Playing right now, another thought crossed my mind. Dead time can also be used for planning your next round.
