Menu lag before on line
I'm new to the COD4 family but have been hear at Tg for a while on 2142.
I have a small problem and before I delete and reload Cod4 I was wondering if any one Elsa has had this problem.
When I open up Cod4 to main menu I get a lot of lag .
I have to try 3 - 4 times to get it clear before I can Log in on line.
My computer is more than enough to handle the game, and the lag is before I log in(go on line).
Has any one had this problem and if so what can I do?-------------------------------------

Re: Menu lag before on line
I had a similar problem a while back and I spent days scouring the 'net for a solution. What I found out was that if you are running a 64-bit OS and running X-fire, killing the process called xfire64.exe cured the lag.
If you are not running a 64-bit OS and xfire, then please ignore my post.

WOW, THANK YOU MINDKILL! I'd been having the problem and killing Xfire64.exe fixed my problem. Except It would take like 2 minutes after clicking on something from the menu to load it. THX!

I'm running 32 bit XP, and I had the same problem when I had Xfire running. I just shut it off when I want to play COD now.
