    Metal Music??

    Does anyone listen to metal? hardcore metal? if you do, you should tell some bands that you like. and if any of you go to metal shows do you hardcore 2 step and hardcore dance? its awesome! just wonderin none of my friends like metal. check this video

    Hey Bucky, Being a former DJ for a NEW ROCK ALTERNATIVE station here in the area that I grew up, I listen to quite a bit of metal, SLIPKNOT, MUDVAYNE, PANTERA, Exodus etc. But NO, dont do the dancing, NOR WOULD I EVER, just looks like a bunch of idiots with anger issues. I did get to break up a few fights from this kind of dancing though when I was a BOUNCER at one of the Local bars.

    Firewind and Iron Maiden

    Firewind is perhaps the most colorful band i have ever heard. From face melting solo songs, to slow balled (spelling?) songs. Their lead guitarist (Kostas Karamitroudis , aka Gus G.) is just freaking amazing! He is the best metal guitarist i have ever heard. EVER!

    I have to respect Yngwie and his abilities, but he is an ass in person. As far as "shredders" go, he is not even in the same class as Tony MacAlpine, Paul Gilbert, Bruce Bouillet, John Petrucci, and sooo many more that have gone past the "neo-classical/fusion" and progressed musically and that just make him look bad now with his "same old stuff" thing.

    But Yngwie isn't "Metal" anyways..he wanted more than anything to be a "Radio Star" and just never really "got there" like that..but I have every album (even the old Alcatrazz stuff) and I also say that he has had a long career doing what he loves, so who can ask for more than that in music..right? I mean he has been around almost 30 years!

    Spandex and Hairspray forever!! hahahahaha

    SO TRUE BIRDIE, SO TRUE!!! Only reason I brought him up is because when I was a kid I saw him on TV once and thought man if i could have just a quarter of his talent. Well I dont, nor will i ever have, but he is definitely awesome at what he does.

    i'm currently listening to Killswitch Engage's cover of Dio's classic Holy Diver

    But yeah... there are some of the "new" metal bands I like. I just don't like the ones that scream unintelligibly.

    EDIT: Also Dan, the guitar player from the band Gunner mentioned earlier, is a HUGE Dimebag Darrell nut. And strangely enough, besides being a metalhead, he's an english professor. LOL
