    Just don't do it...

I keep telling myself I shouldn't post stuff like this. I tell myself "just don't do it". Trust me, the admins really hate it when I put this stuff on the general forums - but sometimes I've gotta speak my peace, and live with the concequences.

Ok, so... Tonight I was having a good time, right up until a foul mouthed and very opinionated TI (or KI or whatever it was) tag wearing player started voicing disrespectful opinions about the server, and the admins, and players on the server. It killed the good mood everyone was in. It made me uncomfortable. After his tirade, everyone logged off. Total killjoy.

I just gotta tell ya... I don't begrudge people for having a different opinion. I expect it. Hell, I've found TG as a whole respects people despite their differences! But voicing such opinions (especially in the way they were voiced) during game play is total crap. Take it to the forums. Contact an admin. If you are at all interested in making a change, work within the system to bring about that change.

Game chat is not the place for such verbal vomit. Being a KT member and dropping lines like "I'm glad our server is up now, cause this server has gone to hell in a handbasket" and disprespecting other players and admins has got to be the most base and immature behaviour I've seen in a long time.

Going on such a tirade doesn't represent your new organization very well. Think about that. What ever differences you have with TG, you look all the worse for what happened tonight.

I hope people really realize that this game isn't worth breaking friendships over.

Anyway... hopefully things get back to good, and soon. That's my 2 cents, and for what its worth I hope people think about things.

    Peace

Sorry I missed the tirade, as I most easily would have ended the verbal vomit. It is a good thing that there are indeed other servers out there, as there are about to be several people that will have no choice but to play elsewhere.

Sorry your night was killed by one loquacious dimwitted moron who thinks that they can tear apart a genuinely amazing community that is smart enough to know what they are hearing.

    Re: Just don't do it...

I witnessed it first hand, along with some other things that were said too. That particular player will not play on the server again. I'm about as reasonable of a person as they come but, that went over the line.

No TG players, hopefully, will ever bash another server. Especially not on another server for everyone to read. Talking with your friends and saying "I don't really care for that server" is one thing. Posting on another servers board or chatting poorly about it for all to read is uncalled for.

It says, right on top of the TG website "A premiere online community for MATURE gamers". We're all here to be adults and have some fun gaming.

    Thanks for the post Grieg.

I was there and saw what happened, caused me to leave.

I will just say it is nice to play on a server where the admins do care enough to take care of the problem rather than just let it continue.

So thank you to Size12.5 for making that happen and the others who follow his lead and get rid of gamers who fail to understand it's a game and a game only.

You are completely right, Grieg, that was totally unacceptable on their part. I've been TG for 3 years and I've never been able to understand people who behave like that.

    Congrats to Obama Mr President.

That's not a statement to start an argument just a Brits respect for the man.
Must say also I thought McCain's speech was also dignified and respectful in defeat.

Now back to this post topic:
I come here because it is said in the TG servers mission statement that they are MATURE.
    Yeah 100% yes from me.
I understand that to mean differences can be aired and discussed with out flame or threat or foul language.

Now I may not always agree with every detail of a particular game server but I do know what to expect when I join it and AND how I am expected to operate on it.

I too rather than argue will leave this and other servers if the attitude is poor.
These points mainly being disruptive behaviour, flaming people and constant arguing; I come to play the game let's get on with it.

    Cheers

First of all nice to see you posting around these parts again Grieg.

2nd Congratulations to the US for voting for the right man for the job, hopefully...

I agree with everything that was said, and frankly hope more people point these people or at least message an admin and get them banned. We really don't need people around that do not fit in with TG.

Good thing Birdie got here before I did.

For those that need a refresher, the first three items in the primer from Apophis
(and ,no, he's not God but he knew what he was doing)

    1) Create an environment conducive for mature gamers to enjoy the games they play without the everyday interference from the less-than-mature gamers.

    2) Create an environment where there was ( I would amend to "is") mutual respect for your fellow gamers and where all members would be working together to advance the enjoyment of their hobby.

    3) Support game play in a NEAR-SIMULATION environment (Caps are mine). Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team.

This is what you sign on for when you wear the TG badge, that this is the community that shares your values. If you exhibit behavior that doesn't follow this model then expect to be removed from the server.

    Thank you..
Yeah lets keep politics outta here and in game....

But I came across this server and feel in love with it. I loved the idea of a server of mature people who didn't do any of the childish cr@p I see everywhere else. Now don't get me wrong all of us TG's have differences in opinions. I mean there aren't anybody I don't like. But there are people who I don't agree with sometimes. But I still respect them and I respect all people even though they do something wrong. But after I find this server not too long ago, and see people bashing other it disappoints me. I am very thankful to all the admins who take their time to deal with all the issues we have.

That thanks is appreciated by all of us, even if it is not voiced. We should all be especially appreciative of the people that you never see or hear from that actually keep the mechanics of TG working..

The top of that list starts with people like:

    Apophis
    Asch
    Strag
    PanzerHans
    Cingular

and then the ones that you see everyday like Bubba, Tempus, Whiskey, and Vulcan and the other Gaming Officers that have to handle the REAL headaches that come along..all on a voluntary basis as well..

TG is much like a corporation..one that takes a LARGE amount of continuous effort.

IT's not acceptable under any circumstances. What part of MATURE players don't they understand? Oh well some will always shoot themselves in the foot.... it's always been that way since the beginning of time.

We will just have to keep weeding out the bad apples in search of the good ones.

    Re: Just don't do it...

While i know this subject does touch on me as well as the 69th all im going to say is that i respect the boys in KI for their decision to make their own clan, but i do not respect people bashing on TG. I have told this particular member best i can that i do respect his decision but i wish that he doesnt give the 69th and TG in general a bad rep because of some of the rocky issues that have come up recently. The 69th is like my child, i had to raise it up and work really hard to get it up and running. I do not appreciate it when a few of my ex-members leave and then start bashing on the very place they just came from.

Thats all im gonna say for now. Maybe later ill talk more about it but for now....that is all
