Is W@W worth it?
I have read your posts on the subject haz and birdie and the rest of you, but is it worth it now? Do your gripes about the game still make it unplayable/not worth the price tag?
I'm not afraid of the bolt action rifles or the guns doing less dmg (as long as a headshot still kills someone). I play with a bolt action sniper rifle pretty much exclusively on COD4. So putting aside the guns? What say you?

Re: Is W@W worth it?
worth the price? nope. apparently its a different story with PC than consoles, its much more like mod than a new game and has a whole lot of bugs that can really tic you off. eg: you can hear a nade exploding on the other side of the map (though from the other side of the map it sounds more like a tank shell being fired) which causes you to panic thinking that the grenade was near you. thats only one of many. now one that you would need to know is that even though your scope is aiming between the oponents eyes your chances of a head shot are still low, so from what i have experienst your better off saving for CoDMW 2.

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Thanks for the input, but is the inaccuracy part of the game or a glitch? Cause quite frankly if its part of the game I find that more of a challenge than a problem for not getting the game?
And nades are going to shake my house regardless of if their close or far, sound might be an issue and trust me i rely on sound a lot but what else is wrong with the game as to not getting it?

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Posted by Drona and he is right on the money.
On Airfield(offense) I went to snipe on the far left towards the back of B, looking through part of the crashed plane...perfect sight picture...hold my breath...when I squeeze off the round my whole scope goes shattered bullet hole. Weak.
You can carry a PTRS-41 (44lbs without ammo) with a Browning 1919(31lbs empty,no base) and an M2 flamethrower(68lbs, filled) and run around like a chicken with your head cut off. Games have been adjusting speed vs. weight carried for a long time so stuff like this is a great leap backwards and reveals the true underlying nature of this title: Run-N-Gun.
Don't get me started. Oops too late.
Some hay bales are bullet proof
2 foot thick concrete walls in some spots are apparently made from paper mache.
Walls, objects and corners that have invisible but bullet proof in one direction protection.
Betties killing the planter, going off behind walls, stupid glowing stem.
Crappy S&D spawn and bombsite placement.
Dome and Courtyard
Spawn sniping on Upheaval.
No practical description of the new squad functions.
Super easy to get stuck on objects
Busted friends functions
Alt-tab crashes
Windows live prevents proper use of mods and redirect.
Co-op is limited to 4 players.
And so on.
I still like the game but expected better.

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Sounds like I'll wait till a patch and a decrease in price maybe, unless the cod4 server never fills up. Thanks Size.
I still have socom to play on the ps3, so no hurries here. Anyone on here have the XIM ver. 1 for their ps3 or xbox?

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Sorry about my post. I don't want to take away from the ones who really enjoy the WaW game. I, myself, like the game but am not playing all that often in hopes of Treyarch fixing some of the issues with a better patch. There are a lot of great ideas going for it. It just needs some tweaking.

Re: Is W@W worth it?
this was what I said in the WaW forum.
"Well despite all the stuff that size and drona listed I still play cause if the cod4 tg server isnt populated and the other one is I will play waw. Just a positive side with WaW. It's still a good game. It didn't top cod4 though. Cod4 is the best cod game ever. I love the single player of WaW. It involves a lot of stuff I have been wanting to see in a WW2 game. Like the other cod game it involves multiple gameplay characters, two different enemies. I like the mission when your in the Catalina fighting in the Pacific. The tank level is fun. It brought Co-op into the picture and did I mention the zombie mode? I agree the multiplayer has defects sure but you can't expect everything to be perfect. Cod4 had some problems too and still does on some maps. I really don't see the need to bash WaW multiplayer so much, but it is frustrating and needs a lot of work."
Single player is one of the best campaign modes I have ever played. Worth the money."Semper paratus, Semper fidelis, Semper validus, Insquequo mortalitas."

Re: Is W@W worth it?
ah cool, i'll let you in on a little hint, I've never beaten a single cod singleplayer game yet, only play it for the multi. but good thoughts hawk. I'm still on the fence about this game but i'll give it a few days and see what I come up with.

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Mo, the 1.2 patch will be out anytime now and this should take care of most of the "problems". I think you could wait to see if the price will fall a little more but you should have this one to add to your CoD collection.

I find World of Warcraft to be a lot of fun. Never seen it abbreviated with an "@", though.

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Just my 2c.
I finished the SP in about 4 hours. It was entertaining. Flamethrower ;p The MP is a good time. I sort of look at it as if I payed for a polished Mod of COD4. The original question was... Is it worth $50 usd? To that, I'd say no. But I will say, I felt much less ripped off by this game than other games I have dropped, same or more, coin on.
i.e. Frontlines FoW, MoH Airborne. and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of artifacts and crashes.
So, is it worth it? I'd say, why not. It probably won't be coming down in price for quite a while. It's a nice change of pace and you get to play with the "new" old school toys.

Re: Is W@W worth it?
Moses, I want to thank you for bring up this thread. I have been on the fence since the game was released and I think this answers my questions. I will not be buying it until its patched or drops significantly in price. I, also, dont play games for SP. I am almost purely MP gamer, so the reviews on its SP playability are worthless to me. I dont get how developers are still allowed to release such crap. Games are getting more and more bugging with each year, pretty soon they will drop the charade and just release games for pay as betas.
