need suggestions
I got on the server tonight to hear nothing absolutely nothing. My mic plugged in and volume up high I couldn't hear anything. I heard gunfire and nades but they sounded like I was wearing earplugs and they weren't as loud as they normally would be. I always saw people talking and heard nothing. I could talk and other could hear me but I couldn't hear everyone else. So I am assuming my mic is done with (even though its only 3 months old). So before I go out and buy another one I wanted to get suggestions on good mics out there.

Re: need suggestions
Does it have a switch???? :-)
I've had mine go part on/off and give weird results.
If you have a switch give it a HARD on/off to reset . . . might fix it."I like a man who grins when he fights"

Re: need suggestions
and if you say other people could hear you your mic is not the problem.
Think you got a connector for your headphones not plugged in correctly
(not all the way in the hole says the pastor..
)
Or another cable related problem to your headphones.
Is it a usb model..??
If so try different usb connectors on your pc.
Try removing the software and reinstalling it.

Re: need suggestions
double check that you have your settings allowed to accept incoming VOIP, both ingame and just your general computer. I've had to do that multiple times.

Re: need suggestions
Ok uninstalled software and reinstalled, tried diff usb ports, and still nothing. I think the mic part of my headphones is fine just my headphones themselves where the sound comes out is shot. My computer and cod4 recognize my speech but the sound is not working. I couldnt hear music from it either or any other form of sound coming from my computer.

Re: need suggestions
if you have XP go to your start menu, get to your control panel, select sounds and audio devices, go to voice, test your hardware, first part is chiecking that you rmic works, second is that your headset can receive all that stuff. If you have Vista. ask someone with vista...

Re: need suggestions
Recently i found that i needed to turn the master game volume down in the COD4 sound settings, and turn my headset volume right up, because i found my microphone recording sound was linked with the headset volume.
