Re: Openwarfare Mod Comes to Call of Duty Series Games
Its a 748kb download for the newest version of the OWP.
The play testers have been giving it several hours of play and it appears that the configuration files are almost at 90% ready to go live.
PDrona, nice work on spending your own $$$ to host the mod and really am looking forward to this on server 1.
TDM will no longer be possible on server 1. LOL! :P

Re: Openwarfare Mod Comes to Call of Duty Series Games
This is not a client side download. Bubba has already said there are no downloads except for the mod. Please listen. Server 2 does require you to download the maps but they download quickly from a separate server as you join the game.

Re: Openwarfare Mod Comes to Call of Duty Series Games
To reiterate:
Server 1 will be "Hardcore" S&D with all new bomb site placements for STOCK MAPS, NO CUSTOM MAPS TO DOWNLOAD, and among other things, "weighting" will be issued based on kit selection. You will have to download the mod when you join. It will only happen once.
Server 2 custom maps "realism based", running just as it has for months. With the exception that the mod itself will be updated.Last edited by birdie_in_Texas; 02-03-2009 at 04:41 PM.

Re: Openwarfare Mod Comes to Call of Duty Series Games
Server 1, the only download is when you connect the first time, it will automatically download the mod itself...will not take but a few seconds. The maps are the normal stock maps, it just tells them where to put the new bombsite locations. No new maps will have to be downloaded.

Server 2 will remain just like it is. Custom maps that you probably already have downloaded, with the exception of 2 that just went up within the last few days..both worth the download time..the redirect is functioning, and the D/L speed is really good.

Re: Openwarfare Mod Comes to Call of Duty Series Games
Was just wondering.
Server 1 will be running a mod as well, so that means when you join the server it will restart cod4 and run the mod.
Is it the same mod as on server 2..??
If not how am I supposed to organise my kits..??
With switching between the openwarefare mod on server 2 and regular (no mod) server my kits where always a mess, to solve that I made a second player account in cod 4 and copied all the files from my orginal player name to that new folder.
Then I changed the kit to more suit the server 2 type of play.
Anyway what I want to know is how do you guys sort your kits when switching between a mod server and a non mod server, because changing something in your kit while on a mod server will shure mess up the saved kits in a normal server and vice versa.

Re: Openwarfare Mod Comes to Call of Duty Series Games
I have a set of kits for server 1 current, a set of kits for server 2, and another set for the OWP test server. They are stored automatically as I assign them and don't interact with each other.
When you join server 1 v2.0 you will start with no custom kits. After you rank up - auto to 55 - you will have to exit the server and make your custom kits. All weps, perks and cammos will be unlocked for you. Rejoin the server and use your kits.
