I have come to understand where I have been in the guilty without intending to be and would like to elaborate on it hoping to shed light on the issue and maybe help others and open up more conversation on this. I have always strived to contribute my best on each map when I hear the bomb carrier call out the Bomb site of choice. The problem is that I have not understood it to mean letter of the law that each player on the team has to go to that bomb site. I had three different levels of understanding on this and I will try to explain from the stand point of being the bomb carrier. This particularly applies to COD4 Server 1.

1. I call out the intended bomb site like B and say unless I am specific with orders, knowing that sometimes time is of the essence I let everyone do what they feel they do best to help this come to fruition. I even say at times do whatever you have found success at in order to plant at this site then defend. I know some will make a diversion or just keep the defense honest by not knowing were we are pushing for sure. Some will snipe and some will move fast or silent.

2. I pick up the bomb and give specific instructions to team members of how we shall precede more specifically, IE routes, placements and weapons etc.

3. I pick the bomb up and ask for the whole team to flood one site to overwhelm the enemy defense and get it planted before reinforcements arrive. Sometimes we say rush and fast plant also. When I ask this I expect all team members to go to that identified site. Even then not all do it and sometimes few do leaving you hanging out to dry. I don’t take it too very serious as I know that Serv 1 COD4 has it’s inherent weaknesses.
In open warfare this is totally different as fast plants are not so much do-able and knowing where we are going and every detail is absolutely necessary on that mod. The whole game is slowed down and allows this to happen as each team is automatically hindered from some of the game play style possible on Serv 1.

My error is that unless specifically asked to use a certain weapon or to go to a certain spot on offense I just do what I have found success with in order to help my team succeed and to stay alive and cause casualties. I do it to the point of being predictable and have to change up sometimes to avoid this. I have used speed kits less though still have one for certain situations….mainly defense in order to get there and set up or stop the rush plant etc. I communicate constantly but still I am wrong in thinking that I could not be lone wolfing if I am not going past defensive choke points or just running around the map to get kills. If the carrier calls out B for the plant I should go to B even if not specifics are given and if we all go B and are killed or the defense easily sees nobody at A and shifts everyone to B so be it. At some point we will communicate the flaw in the strategy and change it maybe or I can take the bomb each time and give orders of such. I am opposed to bomb hogging and think others should have a chance to carry it and give a plan. Though I ask every time “where are we going and what is the plan” I have still been thought to be lone wolfing. I am sorry for this as it was not my intent at all. On Crossfire I always fo to A as it over looks B and in my mind is crucial to succeeding at B. If enemy controls A it is nearly impossible to plant B in my experience. This too has been viewed as lone wolfing when B is called as the target. I have no proven path for B for myself. When I go there and lots of the team are there we are all bunched up on top of each other. I am sorry for this unintentional act that violates the TG desired of game style.
Communicating in one of these three ways could help avoid some of this as I think others think this way also with no ill intent, especially on server 1. If my personal game style has ruined the gaming experience for anyone then except my apology please. If I get hi kills it is not because it is purely my goal. I notice a lot of guys have screen shots of hi kill scores that they have had so I know that we all care somewhat about living vs dieing.

One more point.
I have also learned that video settings can be seen as hacking. I never knew this to be possible. I have an old Nvidia 6800 and try to keep the video demand on the low side. I run the game at 1024 x 768 . GRAW is especially hard on my system in this regard and Vegas 2. If anyone has any suggestions on the individual settings please let me know as I really am computer stupid on the tech end and always have devoted all my brain power to the game aspect and strategy to win.
