Re: Random Dudes
And another thing, i use the word noob very loosily. When i'm speaking of the noobs with overkill kits and sniper rifles. Maybe it would be easy to say, Most, but not all, suck at being a true sniper. They pick up a sniper rifle and start shooting and they think to themselves this is kind of fun, but wait now i can't spray and pray at the people 10 feet from me. oh no, what am I to do. Lets take the easy route and instead of becoming better players. Lets pick up a p90 so i can still spray and pray from 20 yards or less. That is what i'm thinking when i see an overkill kit.
I'm sorry that might offend a lot of you but now you have an insight as to why overkill gets me angry. I would like to see people get better, but instead of getting better at guns that are actually hard to shoot they choose to get better at guns that are easy to shoot from the beginning. Hence the cap at which they can achieve greatness is not as high as others.
Now this is going to make it sound like this. Well "Moses thinks he is better then everyone else because his style of play" I'm sorry for my comments but if you know me I don't think like that nor act like that. I'm sure my egotistical side flairs up everyonce in a while but I believe i keep it at a minimum or make an effort to do so. I can't help my train of thought but that is the type of player I am and that's how I operate.
I would like to see people get to the caliber as some are at now, like hazzy and extinct and house and a few others but they refuse to take the neccessary steps to achieve this goal, and most of these players don't use a bolt action sniper rifle anyways.
Yes i have standards and i am dedicated to live by them. I'm sorry this turned into one big rant but I needed to say it to get it off my chest. Now you might have a better insight into my madness.
I have now just hijacked my own thread. Whoops Back to the topic at hand.
Sniper positions on maps and boundaries, and random guys

Re: Random Dudes
Oh we get it.... most of us have been playing the objective for years.... It's just that some of you keep posting things that can still be interpreted as there still being boundaries.
Most of the players that have been playing at TG for years know how to play tactically and play the objective.
Just because we debate those posts doesn't mean we don't want to get it. That's just ridiculous.
There seems to be a few grey areas, and by me posting, am trying to get these grey areas figured out.
I'm sure you are tired of these posts, you have been debating them for over a year here at TG, for those of us not in the in-house squads here, don't discuss it everyday.
When someone posts "The B sniper position would more technically be "off objective" rather than "too far". "
That kinda puts a grey area back in the boundary rule, that no longer exists. *shrug*
I think my main point is, as long as teams are communicating and playing the objective, who's to say where we can and can't go. Again, most of us have been playing tactically for years.
If you don't like the debate, don't post.Vir-Chew-All!!

Re: Random Dudes
Ok guys yes there are "boundaries." However....the rules do not state that you can't go past these "lines" because there are no lines. You aren't gonna find a list of this maps with lines drawn on them. The old "boundaries" we had don't correspond with the new bombsites and spawn areas, so ignore them. The rules simply state defend the bombsites and immeadiate chokepoints. I agree with you Mediator about "true" snipers. I myself hate overkill and when I do snipe if I need my pistol I am happy with it. I would rather give up overkill and put stopping power on, that makes my sniper and my pistol more effective. I wish we could take it off or limit it at least but that won't happen.
Moses good post about your opinion about people who use overkill. I believe sniper rifles are a good tool when on offense or defense but I think people want to have there short range spray stuff too. Me, when I get my rifle I am giving up that auto gun but I'll make do. That is what sniping is about. Granted if an enemy or teammate goes down with a smg or assault rifle sure I will take it but that doesn't always happen and I don't hide and wait for someone to die. Snipers put themselves at risk to get a job done that other teammates who carry short to medium range guns can't do. And on the other side those with shottys or smgs have the task of the short range stuff. This is the recipe for a good team. Not all are assault..not all sniping...... I hated seeing everyone sniping on Bloc if I wanna assault somewhere I can't because my team can't help me.....
Anyway enough on this back to the whole idea of "boundaries." I don't see how people don't get it. Sure there is gray area but you can't expect it to be perfect. Personally I would like to see the boundary rule into effect with the same mentality. Have "reference" lines that tell people ok don't go past this cause then you are off objective."Semper paratus, Semper fidelis, Semper validus, Insquequo mortalitas."
