Re: Great program
I dont really understand how this is better than just having the applications on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen (for vista), is there something im missing or is just meant to be faster?

Re: Great program
why do you want to have a completely empty/clean desktop..??
isn't the point of the desktop to have icons on it for your favourite programs, folder or web sites..
So you can quickly open them by just clicking them twice..
In other words I would rather have some icons on my desktop witch give me the option to easily open my favourite things then having to double click my way to some memory eating toolbar witch in the end gives me the same program/folder/website.
and to be honest my desktop is relatively icon free, just the stuff I use regularly.

Re: Great program
I'm always interested in how others organize their work/play space. Personally, I have most of my executable progs and important shortcuts either on the task bar or the start menu. On my desktop I keep folders containing current project shortcuts and files and one that contains a number of shortcuts to various system utilities. Once the projects are done, their folders are moved to permanent homes. Sometimes the DT gets pretty full but I always try to get stuff into their respective folders at the end of the day.
It looks like this prog has a lot more functionality than either the task bar or the start menu but alas, no Vista 64 version.
Some us don't have any issues with memory usage by programs like this. For instance, I've got 8 gigs of ram (plus a 4gig Ready Boost thumb drive) and can have CoD4 and CoD:WW running windowed along with an image editing program, Teamspeak, an active browser window plus all the background stuff and it's never cracked 5 gigs usage. And, that's with no page file and all the Vista Aero stuff enabled.

Re: Great program
This also sounds like Quick Launch.
What I'd like is multiple grids where I can drop shortcuts to organize them. So I can put my games in one area of my desktop, development tools in another, utilities in another. (For example.) These areas stay nicely organized as grids but remain isolated from each other. Is there something that can do that?Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?

Watch how this tech support guy restores a guy's lost shortcut layout:

Re: Great program
It is a quick launch
But me i like a clear desk top , you move the mouse over the and its all there even the programs you minimize will go there. Eveything i use is in there and i don't have to navigate sub folders, Just the way i do it
Just thought someelse might like it .

Re: Great program
Heheh, I'm a keyboard freak, so I don't have any this silly icon nonsense

Ctrl+Alt+O Is The Bat (the O came from using Outlook Express in the old days
), Ctrl+Alt+R is Opera, Ctrl+Alt+V is Visual Studio, Ctrl+Alt+Q is query analyser, Ctrl+Alt+F is Firefox, Ctrl+Alt+G opens a folder full of shortcuts to games
