Re: not as busy as it was
Personally, I don't have an opinion one way or the other about Server 1 being vanilla. If it is decided that the proposed server changes will take place, then I will happily (for the most part) start seeding Server 1.
But, as Wookie stated, CoD4 is getting a bit dated. And, I am like most other human beings.. I like shiny new things to be dazzled by and therefore will most likely migrate to CoD:WaW once the SOG mod is installed.
In closing, I would just like to state that I play at TG primarily because of the friendships I have made here. The tactical play is a very close, but still secondary draw for me.

Re: not as busy as it was
With regard to the COD 4 dating thing, its still one of the most played MP games. =) There are still plenty of players going around. Although MW2 may kill it off it's still going strong right now.

Re: not as busy as it was
well MW2 aint coming out til nov so lets just cross that bridge once it gets here. the fact of the matter is that honestly I dont see too many new people coming on to the server because we dont have a regular vanilla server. I propose we keep server 2 the way it is and make server 1 vanilla cause then we may be able to get new guys into TG. I mean dont we wanna expand TG and have a bigger pool of players to be able to play. Now of course we gonna have to deal with the tkers and rule breakers and sure new guys are gonna break rules..(I know i did). But i think thats the best way to bring in more players. I have like 10 friends who dont have a PC and would LOVE to join TG if they had computers. So I mean there are lots of people out there who are probably looking for a tactical server that isnt the regular stupid run and gun bs........but we aint gonna find em unless we make a vanilla server (most likely). I mean in my opinion (like I have said many many times before) TG is the BEST OF THE BEST when it comes to tactical servers........you know what lemme rephrase that IT IS THE BEST when it comes to servers PERIOD......so why not lets try to get a bigger player pool and lets show more and more people that TG is the best server to play on.

Re: not as busy as it was
I think one of the problems with the mods on the servers at the moments is for some people they don't work and require effort to get working.

The hungry, ignorant man immediately grasps that he is handed a fish, but is bewildered when handed a net. The man who shivers in the cold thinks happily of the man who invites him to sit by his fire, and somewhat poorly of the man who loans him an axe, flint and steel.

Re: not as busy as it was
Kinda got lost in the amount of replys here but I think I know every one's stand.
I want to suggest the following:
Lets set a time period for an evaluation to what ever we change.
For example server 1 turns back to vanilla S&D with stock maps and bomb spots, the whole 9 yards.
Then there is time period set, let's say 2 or 3 weeks (or a full month) and after that time a server admin/forum mod posts a poll or just a normal topic in witch we all can vent our thoughts on how it went.
If the overall feeling tells us that the change failed we think up a new and cunning plan..
So now my input on changing it:
More people are likely to join the server, but more does not equal better new players.
But an empty server sure does equal less new players..
I started playing like a half year ago, Friday nights the server was packed full, same was for Saturday's and Sunday's.
Yes there was rng style of playing, but not the majority of the players tried playing by the TG rules, and are still playing here.
Empty servers means no new players and now new players will eventually make this cod 4 title to die a silent death on the TG server list.
I've seen it happen to countless of clan's I've played in on several game's.
New players make the regulars come up with new energy, new idea's witch will eventually make the community grow bigger..

Best way to get new players would be to offer free beer... Drona, you think you could convince Aposhis?
