Game Settings
I am just curious, i would love to know the spec's gamers in our community use for COD4.
i know myself i try and make it the most realistic looking experience that i can with any game that i buy.
Right now i run the game at 1920 x 1080, my aspect ratio is 16:10
I have my anti-aliasing at 4x
I have my Brightness about a pinkeye's length away from the left hand edge
I have depth of field turned on
I have shadows turned on
I have spectal field turned on
BUT i do not have glow on.... do not really know what this one does
I have soften smoke edges on
I have everything on normal....whish there was a higher setting for this (ie. water and lights)
and i have my textures on Extra with the sliding bar all the way over to the right.
now with all of this i get frame rates on server 2 between 55 to 270 to sometimes 300 and that is not jsut sitting staring either that is plaing with nades and smoke and stuff.
the reason why i am asking is that it seems alot of kills that i see is because of low settings, and things not beeing rendered. im not knocking those who do not have a nice system but what i am questioning if those who have a moderate to decent system, do you run your specs as high as they can go, why or why not??

Re: Game Settings
I just use the auto configure for optimal settings. I don't agree with using minimum settings to one's advantage. I honestly think that the auto configure for optimal settings should be the only thing available...

Re: Game Settings
I haven't looked at my CoD4 settings in a while, but iirc:
Res set at 1920x1080 and everything set to max. But, I think I have glow and depth of field set to off. With these settings, I avg about 50-100 fps.
Btw - Glow is the "god light" that you see when looking through a door or window in a building to the outside. Depth of field is noticed when you aim down the sights. Everything around your sights is crisp and sharp but blurry and out of focus elsewhere on your screen.
