Gaming/Connection Tweaks!
I felt compelled to share this article on how to turn off Nagle's Algorithm in Vista because this might have a positive impact on connection issues for some players. Now I'm aware some of you are saying "huh" and I totally understand. The short summary is this algorithm was designed to collect small packets of information coming from your internet connection and then deliver them at one time in a larger packet. While turning this feature off may enhance your gaming experience it could have a negative impact on file transfer or straight throughput. Make the necessary tweaks only after reading the article through to determine if this makes sense based on how you use your computer.
I'm going to post up the link because not only will find this article near the bottom but in addition you will see many TCP/IP connection and registry tweaks for Vista (for XP just search the site under Broadband tools >> Registry tweak) which can ehance your gaming experience by reducing packet loss and increasing the communication between the server and your computer. Now keep in mind there are tweaks you can make to your router also if you do some research on it.
Here is the link SpeedGuide.net
Note:
Do not add the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Paramet ers registry entry to Vista - to make this change globaly in Vista add the DWORD value here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSDTC
Have fun my gaming fanatics!

Re: Gaming/Connection Tweaks!
Nice. I ran the test (using IE8, since it needs a MS ActiveX plugin) and consequently enabled ECN and CTCP. Now to give it a workout.
