Mw2?
Hey im new to the CoD4 forums (came from bf2142) but i was thinking of getting this game but wasn't sure if i should get this or wait for MW2? One thing that might sway my vote is if TG was going to do something for MW2. and also how does the multiplayer system work in CoD (never actually played CoD unless you count once at my cousins. Thanks for all the help!
May God have mercy on my enemy, because I won't.

Re: Mw2?
Well, MW2 is pretty controvesial among the PC crowd because of the lack of dedicated server support. You can read all about it in the MW2 forum here at TG. The forum and maybe a Teamspeak channel is about all the support that MW2 will probably get here as we cannot host a server.
We have 2 cod4 servers and one each for CoD2 and CoD5. Folks still play pretty regularly. CoD4 is the most popular currently. Both of our CoD4 servers are modded so you don't have to rank up to get access to weapons and perks.

Re: Mw2?
Just to push my view, which is less diplomatic than diplodrona's, and is probably representative of a lot of PC CoD fans... It looks like MW2 is going to be completely crippled on the PC. I'm not going to get it, and neither are a lot of other folks. We won't be able to have a dedicated server at TG, so you'll be forced to randomly join some 12 year old's hosted game and won't be able to do anything about it when he starts bitching over voice chat, exploiting the game engine, or just being a general nuisance.
As for what you should get, I definitely wouldn't recommend getting MW2. At the same time though, I'd hate to recommend CoD4 and you end up not being able to get a decent game of it. I really hope I'm proven wrong, but I'm afraid that with some of the core TG CoD community players getting MW2, it's going to fracture the group even more, and there'll be few left playing on our servers.

Re: Mw2?
We've had quite a few players come from 2142 and enjoy the experience when playing on the modded 4 server. Contrary to Balfa's take on what MW2 might do, I feel like the 4 community will remain stronger as a result of the lack of dedicated server hosting for 6. Come on '42 guys say hi and give your opinions. In any case, thanks for stopping by and saying hello and I hope to see you in the servers.

Re: Mw2?
Depending on the time zone and the times you're available, youll have a blast with COD4.
Dont know the price atm in the US but it cant be too much, with a game of the year edition, WAW, and MW2 coming out soon. Most games pick up in the evening US time when quite often there will be 5v5s+, although with seeding from me and other UK/EU fellas you could find a game earlier.
BTW Friday night is the "official" COD4 night, and on Monday is when we try out different game modes like headquarters or domination etc
Hope to see you on the servers!

Re: Mw2?
Ok so with MW2 relased now. Does anybody see any difference in online levels? Fewer people maybe? Just wanted to check up and see how MW2 is affecting CoD4. Any help? Comments?
