Mod Testing, if you want to help Great!
Note: This is not a "Tactical Gamer" server. It is server which has been rented by me to more readily test settings for mods that may be introduced into the community.
I have been getting help testing the 1.3 version of the Tac Night Mod. As of right now I can't seem to lick the error on the server where after about an 4 hours the server will hang on the round change.
The problems were mostly coming out on SnD and on Sabotage.
Which I inferred meant that anything with a round change was going to cause a server hang.
With this in mind I have the only KOTH and 1 DOM on the server right now.
If anyone available to test the current setup. I would appreciate it immensely if it still hangs then two things can be deduced.
1.) I should stick to playing games and never mess with the back end of a game server again.
2.) The server I am currently renting will need to be changed.

If you need some help, I can be one later tonight.

The hungry, ignorant man immediately grasps that he is handed a fish, but is bewildered when handed a net. The man who shivers in the cold thinks happily of the man who invites him to sit by his fire, and somewhat poorly of the man who loans him an axe, flint and steel.

I can probably help. Having a specific date and time would be even better.

I don't mind joining it for a while as long as I'm not just running around by myself (thats what the Arma server is for
)

Yes, it was still locking up in between round.
I was doing just fine until 1 other person joined and then it got stuck on the round switch.
So it seems that 1.3 for me atleast likes to kick a person when it's down.
Hopefully, 1.4 will fix whatever it is going on.

Re: Mod Testing, if you want to help Great!
I appreciate the help KD.
But I need to relocate a heater for my dad who is pretty close to having pneumonia.
So I should be online @ 8 Central.
Addendum:
I don't think I will be making it tonight I am setting up a heater and making dinner for my Dad.. now known as "Do you feel ok, little Baby."
He hates it.. but he really likes the fawning over but won't admit it.

Re: Mod Testing, if you want to help Great!
Mod testing will occur tomorrow night, Saturday 12th, at about 7pm Central.
I will restart the server around 6 so we can hopefully play through without an event.
Those who would like to participate I would appreciate it if you would be on TS in the CoD4 mod testing channel that will be temporarily created.
There will be two phases:
Phase 1
All HQ and DOM gametype on the rotation.
If the server crashes I will stop for about 20 minutes.
So I can review the logs and then forward them to the mod dev.
Phase 2
Will test settings for Sab and to see if the server hangs after adjusting the settings for SnD.

Re: Mod Testing, if you want to help Great!
I really like what I see so far.
The health could be reduced slightly, but I think the bleeding out factor equals that out.
Once I figured out that just by pressing F (instead of holding F, WRM) I figured out my previous bandaging problems. ie not recieving my weapon after I bandaged. I like the fact that you can still move around while bandaging, but I dunno how realistic it is. but it does give you the option to run for cover, or hide.
I really like the fact that there are no hit indicators.
Not having the Objective icons on the screen is growing on me, tho hard to get used to at first. but once you get to know the maps, it adds to the emmersion.
So far so good IMO.Vir-Chew-All!!
