Can't wait! I think it's about time for some new maps. A more realistic server setting would also be a great addition too.

Re: Mod tools to be released by the end of this week!

New maps, here we come in a couple of weeks. Good new maps here we come in..... ?

I think there will be a flood of new maps with this but I think TG needs to be carefull not to overload the rotation with all kinds of new maps. I think a few new maps would be good. We can play them, learn them and evaluate if they are worth while. The first few runs through a new map you may be impressed simply because of the newness but after playing it several times you can see if there are any major flaws. If we have tonns of new maps we may not get a chance to play them each enough to give a good evaluation.

I have never made any maps before but if this editor is easy enough I may take a stab at it

Bring on some ole CoD 2 maps. The bigger the better.

Ditto.
Sub pen would be great. Saar River is another one of my favorites.

Yeah the COD 2 maps, especially the expansion pack maps are down right huge compared to what we have now. Suddenly the limited range of the SMG's and silinced weapons would start to be an issues, finally.

Re: Mod tools to be released by the end of this week!

I am gonna be trying my hand at making some maps as well. Not recreations of other games' maps (since I really haven't played all that many FPS games). I just want to work on some ideas I have floating around in my head.

It all depends on how hard the editor is to use though.

Re: Mod tools to be released by the end of this week!

i was thinking the same thing Claydaddy...i wonder how hard it "really" is to use..

i once designed a 3D "world" where you could pick a bunch of different "panels" and textures to build your own "place" on what essentially was a BBS..but man..that was like almost 20 years ago...i am not even sure i remember wth it was called...someone probably stole my work and made billions off of it and i am still poor! hahahah

long live the CLAYDADDY MAP..!!!

Very well said.
I expect the map editor to be similar to Valve's 'Hammer Editor', the one used for CSS and others.
Hopefully it'll be a little more straightforward, I'll be learning it and will try to develop something awesome.

Re: Mod tools to be released by the end of this week!

Forgive my ignorance, but will the Mod Tools be a map editor only? Will we be able to tweak the aspects of the game such as:

- Limiting helicopters
- preventing nades from first 20 sec
- Tweak weapon damage
- Prevent KillDaddy from having Clays when I am on the opposite team
- Etc...

I am really happy about new maps. I was a long time (not really that long) player of Team Fortress 2 and most new maps are crap, but some are really fun. It's nice to have that to look forward too.

See you guys later!

Wow can we also test the option for scripting game balance via stat metrics pulled from tracking? And like make it so you can carry 5 RPGs?
