Yeah, no kidding. This might be the bad thing about this map. I don't see how anyone's not going to want to just sit at the very top of the tv station and pick people off since you have a clear view of the whole courtyard and more below. Other than that the map looks pretty awesome.

Counter-sniper. It is in the rotation.

Re: [Released] - mp_sharqi
It's a very open map.

Re: [Released] - mp_sharqi
I played this the other night on S&D and it was fun. However being so wide open with great vantage points, sniper rifles were key. I usually don't snipe but had to on this map, theres no way to approach the bomb site that doesn't involve a 100-200 yard dash in the wide open. It was fun but there is limited cover for both sides to work with. Perhaps if he put the bomb sites in the construction area and the attackers started over in the corner away from the tower it would work. That way you could watch over the bomb sites from the tv tower as attackers but you it would take some time to get there.

Playing HQ on this map was painful. I imagine most other game modes would be fun; Search and Destroy would require some coordinated movement.

Domination might be pretty fun, since its more of a battlefield style gametype, for a battlefield type map.

Re: [Released] - mp_sharqi
I haven't seen or played the new release but the notes sound promising. More cover and more building access will help a lot.

Re: [Released] - mp_sharqi
In S&D, the TV Station roof is one of the worst places to be at; if the enemy plants at A, they will never have a chance to kill the bomb defenders and defuse in time. There are better places to snipe from anyway.

Re: [Released] - mp_sharqi
what'd be cool is a "Day 2" type map... lots of debris and craters and crap all over the place.. the result of a brutal first day of fighting.

Beta 2 of Sharqi looks very nice.
