Please test my map?
I've been breaking back into the map making and need someone to download and test a crappy map. It plays on my computer. Hopefully it plays on someone elses too. It's for WaW.
There's 2 files. The .ff and the localized.ff. Map name is mp_xxx for now.
http://www.tacticalsites.com/~size/mp_xxx.ff
http://www.tacticalsites.com/~size/localized_mp_xxx.ff
From my reading on modsonline there doesn't have to be an iwd file. Not sure if it's true or not. I don't have a loadscreen or a minimap yet.
Thanks for whoever helps. Please comment on the map and be harsh with me if you're able to play it. Right now it has DM, TDM and S&D.
I also realize it needs some ambient sound and a few more thingys here and there. It's only a beta version. I basically want to know if it looks right on your computer. My fps was still really good despite the large amount of foilage. Hopefully I got this portal thing correct.

Re: Please test my map?
I've d/led the two files but with the Vista file structure I'm not sure where I need to put them. I'd be happy to give them a spin if I had this info.

Re: Please test my map?
I don't have vista yet. Still running xp. Here's what codutility says to do:
Vista users, place the map files in: \Users\your_pc_name\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWa W\usermaps\mp_mapname
Not sure if that helps or not. If it works, my main concern is how all of the plants/foilage looks. Is it popping up as you walk by it or does it stay drawn. What is your FPS.

Re: Please test my map?
Size, your map is up on the 13th WaW server. It runs fine. The foliage stays drawn, all the ladders I found worked. My FPS stayed at my cap of 70 most of the time but occasionally dropped briefly to as low as 40.

Re: Please test my map?
Great news! That means I remember how to do the stuff. Hehehe. It needs a lot of fine touches. I thought about making tunnels but I didn't really want a bazillion ways to get to the bombsites. Also needs a few more static models. It was compiled on low lighting as well. I'll finish up all the fine details sometime this week hopefully.
Thanks Drona.

Re: Please test my map?
Updated the map. Has a tunnel with 5 exits, 3 more small sniping platforms, 3 glitches fixed, a few more static models and some other small things. Still no minimap or loadscreen. I'll attempt that this weekend hopefully. Same links as above if anyone is interested.
Thanks!

Like I've always said "It's the least I can do".
And I'm all for the least amount that I can do.

Re: Please test my map?
Sorry Drona. I had the gsc file directing the game to a minimap. Which isn't there. Hopefully I fixed the problem. I reuploaded the map files. If reuploaded is a word or not.
