    CoD Mapping/Modding Group

We're starting a new open Map/Mod team for CoD. It's open to any TG member. The idea is to involve as many members of the community in content development as possible. If there is enough interest, we'll start a Group Membership for it in the User CP.

We'll use this sub forum to discuss new ideas, maps under development, maps from other sources folks want to see tested and mod development.

Please post below if you would like to be a member of the group. I'll update this post with a roster once we've got some members on board.

    Roster

    BadBest
    Blindgamer
    Cap
    Drona
    Ednos
    E_Leader
    Extinct
    JackBauer
    Krag
    Mindkill
    PaintScratcher

    Re: CoD Mapping/Modding Group

I'd like to be part of the group. I'm a programmer by trade, but have never done anything regarding mods before.

I once made a doom map that was two large rooms separated by a corridor
The corridor was half way up the wall of both rooms, and thus inaccessible

Cool. Nice to see some interest. Krag and I are working on getting a file repository going so we have a place to transmit and store shared files. Updates to come.

    Re: CoD Mapping/Modding Group

Well let me say its great to see so many people already interested in this already.
I just want to elaborate a little bit on what Drona has said.

You do not need any experience to participate, Level Design has many aspects to it

It includes Sound FX's maybe you like working with sound well you would be a great asset to the team.

Maybe you are artistic and can make Textures and other types of art work as well.

    Maybe you like Scripting/Coding .

We are currently working on setting up a SVN to aid in this Venture.

I would also like to say that the SOG mod source code will be also available in the SVN
so scripting, artistic, and sound work is needed there.

What I am getting at is please don't be shy feel free to come learn with us and develop great content for us here at TG.

Sign me up for any coding; I refuse to participate in artistic stuff.

Out of curiosity, do we have anyone around here that is good with video editing? I've had an idea of doing game specific tutorial/training videos since my time playing 2142 and just don't have the knowledge.

Yeah, I was planning on hitting up that forum as well, but I would really like to get a CoD player involved if at all possible.

    Re: CoD Mapping/Modding Group

I dont have a clue about modding, but I'd like to learn.

With regard to the video editing stuff, I'm not too bad and I have the right software. (Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro)

    Re: CoD Mapping/Modding Group

maybe I've missed something, but I have 2 questions.

"We're starting a new open Map/Mod team for CoD."

1)What kind of mod are you thinking about, or is that still up in the air?

    2)CoD? which one?
