Remove the green "Friendly Player" Arrows?
We've had some great tactically oriented players from outside of TG on our CoD2 server lately. Several of them have expressed the desire to see the green "friendly player" arrows removed from the compass, in order to make the game even more tactical. Let's take another vote on this.

Re: Remove the green "Friendly Player" Arrows?
I for one enjoy playing Call of Duty 2 as realisitic as it can get. There is nothing I enjoy more than bleeding, hurting, having my weapons fall out of my hand, and there being limited weapons. There is nothing I love more than having other players there that are willing to work as a SQUAD (capital letters!). It makes the experince seem So life like to have people providing covery fire, distractions, flanking, and just plain out saving your butt a time or two.
I look for the most realistic enviroment, and Tactical Gamer server on Call of Duty 2 is almost as close as it gets. The one thing that I believe will band the players togather to work even More as a team, is not having the luxory of glance at a compass to see who's where, who's alive, who's shooting in what direction. One of the big debates (or so i've seen) is the arguement of people getting teamkilled. I agree it can be a pain, but I enjoy the realism all that much more. I doubt there would be a greater increase in teamkilling for my reason... I don't look at the compass anyways and can usually play a whole day without killing an ally. I believe this would really enhance the game play and make it much more challenging and exhilerating at the same time. Folks actually having to Look to see what their buds are doing... *Sighs in deep contentment* Perhaps it's just me, but I would think anyone serious about playing a realistic server would have to agree with the compass "spy glass" would be better off without it. Anywho, that's my small imput on this subject, hopefully everyone agrees 100%.

That said, even though I don't play the game, I'll chime right in on this one: don't. Realism is one thing, but there are a great many experiences that real life offers that can't be duplicated by a computer game, and prime among them is situational awareness. In real life, I have a field of view of around 140 degrees, subtle auditory cues, and a general sense of the space around me (like if someone walks behind you while you're sitting at the computer, often you'll know without looking, even if they're quiet). None of those things has yet been recreated faithfully by a computer game (unless you're running Flight Simulator 2004 with eight screens and surroundsound or such), and to compensate, games offer things like radar on the HUDs and such. Don't make the mistake of thinking "real soldiers don't have radars, so why should we?". Real soldiers have a whole lot more than the information offered by a standard computer screen on which to base their decisions.

So right now the vote is 8(remove) - 9(keep). The reason I say 8-9 instead of 7-10
