Realism Mods for Single Player?
Hello fellow TGers,
Since I couldnt get my WWII fix with RO and FH2 for BF2 is still not close to release, I am considering to get CoD 2 if I can find a good deal.
As far as I can see, you guys are getting together on Wed nights. For the rest of the week, I may check out the single player part of the game. I was just wondering if I can use Wolfebane's realism mod and TG mod in single player campaign?

Hi Can! Glad to see you over in these parts.

Has anyone tried any of the realism mods for the singleplayer game?
I hope you can find a copy of CoD2 and join us in multiplayer. We do play mainly on Wednesday nights, but if you get the game and are looking for a small game on another night, you can always post in here and see if anyone is around. I'd be happy to hop on the server with you and help with anything, so just let me know.

Re: Realism Mods for Single Player?
I haven't played it on single player but from what i've read it is not very good. As for realism, this game has it built in. Snipers have one shot kills and moving around with heavy weapons like a BAR you move slower than someone with a grease gun. In multiplayer we play search and destroy which is one side proctects two assets and the other team trys to blow them up. I think a round is 3 defend and 3 attack. Once you die your out of the game until everyone on a team dies or the object is completed so you need to stay alive. If this had the squad/CO system that BF2 has it would be awesome. Another thing is if you don't have a map or mod you automatically download it then join the game. Simple. The game is worth it just to have a break from BF2. Oh and one other thing is while your out of the game you get to watch one of your teammate play till the round is over.

Re: Realism Mods for Single Player?
Well......out of the box, I'd say the game is anything BUT realistic; the vanilla game plays much more like something for the Nintendo than a realistic tactical shooter. It has been heavily modded to tailor it to our purposes in multiplayer, using both WRM and our own TG Weapons mod, along with several other smaller mods, to promote team play and enhance realism. The goal has been to make it more of a WWII-era America's Army, and, according to Krag (our resident America's Army expert), we've succeeded.

Strag / Kin,
Thanks a lot for the info. I checked the link Strag posted and found Camillo CoD2SP Realism Mod (v3). Playing MP with TG is the most important part of course but a realistic SP experience is a nice bonus...
HUD related part of the mod:
Did I mention I hate to see TEXT in games
HUD
1. Stance icon removed.
2. Grenade danger indicator removed.
3. Compass size lowered.
4. Damage icons removed.
5. "Frag" and "Smoke" sings next to grenade icons removed.
6. Grenade icons moved to the right side of the HUD.
7. The compass and ammunition counter are now displayed all the time without dissapearing.
8. Removed friendlies pointers at the compass. You will only see the location of Your objective.
8. You won't see the names of friendly soldiers and tanks. Partially the "WCP2.2" mod was used to get rid of those names - big thanks to the author WiCoPP.
9. Removed green friendlyfire icon.
10. Removed weapon name at the bottom of the HUD.
11. Many of warnings any signs like "You're hurt! Get to cover!" and "Explosives planted. Stand back!" were removed.
12. Removed all crosshairs, even if You enable crosshair in the game options it won't appear. Also removed all crosshairs for any kind of turrets and tanks, so in tank missions if You want to aim You will have to use binoculars, which now have less zoom effect for better aiming at closer targets.

Re: Realism Mods for Single Player?
Yeah, it sounds like that realism mod should make some nice changes to the singleplayer game, which should help.

Re: Realism Mods for Single Player?
Single player CoD, out of the box, is not very realistic. Hoards of german soldiers leap over walls and wait to get shot by you. Now I'm not saying that single player isn't good fun, it's GREAT for relieving stress because of the never ceasing action but isn't really a realistic shooter.
The game is completely different online with TG however. Strag has modded the hell out of it to make the game more realistic. It'll be good to have you around if you do pick the game up! If you like it hopefully you can bring some of your C-Team buddies over. (Do you still call it C-Team)Last edited by Obi; 07-05-2006 at 06:01 PM.

I guess at least two 1st MIP (official TG name for C-Team) members have the game. I made a post in our team forum to gauge the interest. I'll check a couple of stores for a good deal and look forward to joining you guys in the next session.
