Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archi....aspx#comments
Looks like this may be their official response and it is not what the PC community wanted to hear, looks like I will be boycotting all IW games from here on out, let them become a console only company we don't want this crap on our PC's.

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
From the article: "He points toward the mounting feedback IW has received from PC fans of Modern Warfare who couldn't find a decent server to play on between all of the cheaters, the insular communities, and huge skill level disparities that the original game's community fractured into."
LOL. What a steaming load. Any retard who can't "find a decent server" amongst the hundred or so 40-60+ player servers should simply set his computer on fire.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blah blah blah.

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
Nice one, Infinity Ward. Tell Modern Warfare 2 to say hi to Frontlines for me.
Shame really, it looked quite good until a few weeks ago. Maybe the games that have been delayed to avoid competition with MW2 this Autumn will get it right.
I really can't see why having dedicated servers and the matchmaking system would be a bad thing. Just put a big button that says 'play now', and next to it, a button that says 'server list'.
Ah well, there's always Battlefield: Bad Company 2... *drools*

As a friend on another forum said "This is almost worse than not responding at all"
Also love how he doesn't mention how matchmaking means you can have to deal with a 9 year old screaming over the mic or a complete ****** on an almost hourly basis on consoles.Last edited by P.Drona; 10-20-2009 at 06:56 PM.

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
Well that settles it then. Obviously the majority of the gamers will be happy, so then everyone else is just whining. I wish IW the best of luck with their game! I do not share their view on things, so i will not be buying the game.

I was thinking the same MK... along with some asterisks in front of the phrase "you IW". If ya catch my drift.

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
Sorry, I ain't paying over 50€ for a completely crippled game. Especially not if the game is deliberately crippled for reasons as off as that guy's.
You know what's funny though? I can see the software cracking/reverse engineering community releasing dedicated server software and a hacked-together server browser a few months after the game's release. Again, people illegally downloading a game will have the advantage over people buying it, and this time, the customers aren't even getting the advantage of a better multiplayer experience...

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
Yep... The only way any of my cash will be going to this title is possibly as a rental for the PS3 and maybe when it hits the $5 bargain bin for the PC version (which won't take long IMO)

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
He basically confirms that they want absolute control over server content, be able to globally ban people who break their rules (or appear to) and don't accept any modifications to their product.
They then can freeze server support as they please (shut down all MW2 servers when MW3 is released) so everybody who wants more needs to buy the next iteration.
After a "rough start for IWnet" where nobody can play mulitplayer because "the amount of players exceeded our wildest expectations" they will sell it as a great success. Hopefully not. I hope they will learn that they can't "change the culture of PC gaming" and adapt it to their business needs by trying to force it upon us.
It's all about making money by strict control of the content. They won't make any money off of me.TG-E1st TacticalGamer European Division | Watch this (pretty old) video to find out what TG is all about

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes
IW and Activision in general are too profit-oriented and not consumer-oriented. I was skeptical from the get-go about this game and this just sealed the last nail in the coffin which was my decision to buy the game...go to hell IW and take Activision with you.

Sad news indeed. I know everyone is pretty bummed but let's remember to keep the language clean and mature.

COD6 is dead... long live COD4!

The hungry, ignorant man immediately grasps that he is handed a fish, but is bewildered when handed a net. The man who shivers in the cold thinks happily of the man who invites him to sit by his fire, and somewhat poorly of the man who loans him an axe, flint and steel.
