Re: MW2 is dead
A joke is a short story or ironic depiction of a situation communicated with the intent of being humorous. These jokes will normally have a punchline that will end the sentence to make it humorous. A joke can also be a single phrase or statement that employs sarcasm. The word joke can also be used as a slang term for a person or thing which is not taken seriously by others in general. A practical joke or prank differs from a spoken one in that the major component of the humour is physical rather than verbal (for example placing salt in the sugar bowl).
Jokes are typically for the entertainment of friends and onlookers. The desired response is generally laughter; when this does not happen the joke is said to have "fallen flat". (wikipedia)
Maybe its more appropo than I suspected. I was going to relay the definition as I don't find any of this funny but it seems your expression is accurate after all.

HA, I love this. You couldn't have fueled the PC hate machine better with all of these posts. Some of my personal favs

Since we can not kick people in ranked matches, how will we stop hackers who get past VAC?
02:25 Mackey-IW
Our goal is to ban hackers from the game.
Not so much a side step as ignorance to the question. No cheat system will ever work perfect and once VAC is cracked for CoDMW2 it will go to hell.
02:27 Stormbringer
I can see how IW.net would be good for the individual; however, would you not agree that for clans with wide geographic dispersion this could cause severe problems in terms of ping?
02:27 Vince-IW
We have not found this to be a problem.
There is a petition with over 170,000 signatures, and even if we consider 1/3 to be doubles that is still over 100k. 402 signing it 4 times just shows his support for the PC fans right fellas
02:40 JunkyNL
You say the Multiplayer is going to be incredible and I want to try this new IW.net system to see, but if it doesnt exceeds my expectation I lost 60 dollars cause it cannot trade PC games. Unless IW is going to offer a money back guarantied
02:40 Mackey-IW
When one of your friends buys it, you can ask him if it's good, and then make an educated decision.
That is assuming I know anyone that is buying it for the PC, but *SHOCK* there isn't since you've "improved" the game so much. Guess the only other option would be to pirate the game but I never like to do that.
This is an insult, I don't know if I'd even play it if it was given to me because it sounds like they have hacked up the game so bad. I was looking for a game to start getting a bit more hardcore with in terms of clans/scrims/matches etc but this is the exact opposite. Time to go DL PR and try and get into that. Irony, dling a mod for a game instead of buying a brand new game for a good experience.

Re: MW2 is dead
They didn't answer this question, and it is extremely relevant to TG:
EDIT:01:53 maniac1969
How are PC gaming clans going to uphold their clan rules in the IW-net system? Are you going to give admin rights to gaming rooms so that admins can Kick or Ban players who refuse to follow clan rules? For example, {MRoA} servers prohibit racial comments from guest and/or clan members...
Yes they did:
Their solution is simply to ignore problem players.01:55 Mackey-IW
In response to the PC clan question: Private matches are a way for players to easily play with their friends and apply whatever House Rules they want. You can not kick players from Ranked matches. If language is a problem you can easily mute players.

Privates matches = no rank progression.

Re: MW2 is dead
I wonder if they will have a system like Socom:Confrontations on the PS3. Basically you party up together and then the game will look for a ranked match to put you in, keeping you all on the same team at the same time. That is the only way Clan games work in Socom unless you send msgs to meet in a specific room. Then again SC has dedicated servers >.> .

Re: MW2 is dead
If you have played a multiplayer match on X-Box Live, then that is how IW.net will work.
The game is basically a direct port from the console as opposed to being the other way around.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Love the whole "It's not a direct port... you PC fellas get text chat" thing. That's comedy right there!

Re: MW2 is dead
I never have (Nor will ever) play Xbox live so I have only have a faint idea of how it works. I'm guessing that if you play ranked then you have no chance of playing with your friends?

Re: MW2 is dead
I realize this is just flogging a dead horse but it appears that early reports have the single player lasting somewhere between 4 and 5 hours.

Re: MW2 is dead
Sickening. I barely even heard about MW2 and this is related to all the hype? I can't tell if they were being serious about it or not because the way IW acted was certainly a terrible way to treat a loyal fan base.

Re: MW2 is dead
I almost exclusively have played with my friends. They adjusted the Party system. In the past outside of a particular game, you and your friends join a party and can join a game as a group and continue to chat. Since there is no limit on the players in the party and you do not have to join a game to be in a party they make you switch channels for chat once you start MW2. You have to select in game voice or party voice chat. Not a big deal, but see it as a way maybe to save bandwidth in game or cheating by putting a guy on the other side and talking via your party.
We have played all ranked games and as a group since the release.|TG-12th| tHa_KhAn
