Unfortunately that will likely not matter at all to IW/Activision. If 20 million people buy the game and then all of them quit playing after a week, the developers still have their money and can label the game a success. Subscription games are the only ones that truly measure success via longevity.
The only way to make "standard" games a bust is to not buy them in the first place.

Folks, it's time to let the past be the past as far as CoD4 goes. It's a new day and there are new rules, a different GO and some different admins. The whole approach to the game has been changed and there's no point beating a dead horse or scaring off folks that might be interested in trying it here.
I would really appreciate if folks that left the title would give it another shot so they can judge it by its current set up and maybe help us resurrect the title. A lot of lessons have been learned and as Balfa said, I'll listen to any suggestions folks have for improving it.
If folks still want to debate about why CoD4's traffic croaked, please start a thread in the CoD4 forum.
