    Jumping in Highrise

In Highrise, I saw a video on youtube where a guy was able to jump to a scaffold on the left side. The scaffold is hanging down, with the cables only supporting one end. He jumped on the scaffold, climbed up it like it was a ladder, and was then able to jump from ledge to ledge until he was on top of the highest building, where he had a full view of the action below. It was a great looking sniping spot.

The problem is, I can't figure out how he made that same jump. Every time I have tried it, I miss the first jump and fall to my death. I have seen others try the same thing, dying the same way. I have tried different perk combinations, thinking that might be the problem, but the results are the same - death by falling.

Does anyone know how that is done?

    Thanks

I haven't tried it but I've seen it as well. I'm assuming you jump and then hold down the space bar which will allow you to grab it and climb up. I'll give it a try tonight.

I killed a guy doing it, so it's def possible but I also saw tons kill themselves so it's obviously not easy. Looked like he was just climbing a ladder like any other in the game.

I haven't tried it but I have done it as well. Its not as good as the opposite side crane jump in terms of camping but still a neat trick (leaves you wide open to get killed fast).

I think you need to hit space to latch on, then climb up like a ladder.

you dont need to press anything to hold on, u just need to grab 1/3 of the way up and make sure you looking and pressing up at the same time. When you grab on you will slip down a bit so be careful. then you just use the ledge to get to the other side of the building and you walk up the side of a scaffold, climb another ledge, look to the left and you are there.

Messed around with this last night. When you jump to catch the so called "ladder", make sure to catch it on the left side. This will allow you to pull yourself up to the top. If you catch it straight on you'll fall when you get to the top. Then just use the ledges.

It's a great spot on Hardcore, if you have a silenced weapon and are smart enough to only engage long range targets.

Just a heads up if you do try to use this spot put a tactical insert on your build so you can respawn up there

I've never been able to make that jump myself but I heard someone say if you let go of all buttons as soon as you touch the ladder/scaffolding, you automatically catch it
Might just be a rumour but its worth a try for anyone adamant about reaching that spot.

I dont recommend doing any of that stuff. It just brings unwanted attention by the enemy to you. The time it takes you to get up there, you would be able to get more kills than you would sniping from up there. I usually snipe on highrise because of all the places you can hide, but when somebody goes to the top of that building, i just snipe them and take out their insertion of a pred missile if i get the kill streak.

its best to use a class where you have lightweight on, for example you can have a m21 ebr sniper rifle with a silencer, and a pistol for your secondry weapon, whip out your pistol and just go for it, sometimes you get lucky, there isnt really a trick to it, its mainly just luck.

    Re: Jumping in Highrise

It is certainly possible, just takes a bit of coordination if you are playing a team based match there. You jump from the corner of the building pointing to the corner of the downed scaffolding. It is kind of obvious to experienced players when someone is trying to get up there, so you need your teammates to engage at all points from the middle of playing field into the enemy side. Once up top, an OMA or scavenger pro setup works well with sniper rifles or OMA and grenade launchers. Tactical insertion is a must if you are going to go to all of that trouble, but the spot is worth it if you're good enough. I thought everyone knew you could get up there, but since so many were unaware here is another spot you can get into on highrise:

On the building opposite of the one with the downed scaffolding you can get into the ceiling by climbing on to the yellow crane on the middle of the field opposite of the helicopter pad. In fact, if you want to you can get onto the crane from the helicopter pad, or you can climb the ladder near it and jump on to the pallet of I-beams. Alternatively, you can get into the scaffolding below the I-beam pallet and jump up to the pallet, you just have to make sure you keep hitting your jump button to pull yourself up. Once you're on the crane you can either head to the side with a dead-end and set up a nice sniping spot, or head to the other end to get on the ledge leading into the building.

Protip part 2: You can jump on to the metal rods poking out of the ground at flag B in Karachi. You simply need to get on to the rooftop overlooking B and jump out to the one nearest the highest rooftop there. Marathon and Lightweight are necessary, but once you make it on to the first one, you simply jump to the 2 nearest until you can jump into the 3rd story ledge at B. From there you jump to the ledge next to that one until you are lined up with the rods nearest the half destroyed building that acts as a shortcut between A and B. Jump onto the first one of those and then you can land in the "V" shape above the hole overlooking B above the staircase in that building. If you did it right, you will land above the hole and can now walk around outside the map. Just be careful because some of the areas that you can reach are not developed and you can fall through the map. Doing this isn't really feasible in a live game because the quickest I've ever seen this done takes roughly 2 minutes using tactical insertions, but it is neat because you can walk for quite some time in the map.
