5v5 Scrims Roll Call
Looking for a few good men!
There has been some interest lately about organizing a competition team in the 13th and to test the feasibility I have "volunteered" to help organize some practice matches.
This will be different from the Captains matches as team rosters will be set.
Team leaders should try and sign up 7 members (suggested but if you know your five will ALWAYS be there) so there are alternates come game day. Teams are not restricted to Sm's or IHS members and anyone registered in the forums is eligible to play.
It will be up to each team leader to recruit his team members but a sign up list for who's interested will help. So the first request is for SL's, please note when you respond if you will lead a squad and feel free to offer cash and other incentives for "prime" players. Re: 5v5 Scrims Roll Call
Bronco,
I would also like to participate. Please send me an Xfire (npb007) with more information. I'd be happy just to participate, but if you need me to organize a squad, please also let me know.

Re: 5v5 Scrims Roll Call
OK, I've got a squad ready for this. SOG is ready to fight!
One thing though..... most members of SOG aren't regular posters. They all know of TG, and most of them were/are regulars here at one time or another........
I'm hoping all members don't have to be active on these forums to participate, cause most of my guys aren't forum freaks like most of us here. =DVir-Chew-All!!

Re: 5v5 Scrims Roll Call
We have enough squad leaders. Now if you'll post your rosters, I'll look at setting up the first matches.

Re: 5v5 Scrims Roll Call
Couple of points for the future plz.
I could raise a team, well probably 2 if i'm honest but they are all Euros.
Would these 5by5's be able to be played at a mutually suitable time for both sides of the pond???
And just to confirm ALL players not just the SQD L have to be registered on these forums . . . yes?
Also battle conditions to be played under standard TG regs on a unmodded server.
Thanks"I like a man who grins when he fights"

Re: 5v5 Scrims Roll Call
Yes can we please confirm this. Like I said in my previous post.......... most of the guys in SOG are old TG members, but a few are not. Would they have to register in the forums to participate? SOG was an offshoot of TG, kinda like an "outhouse" squad.... lol. back in 2004, and we run the same SOP's as you guys do here. I know at least 4 of us are registered here, but like I said most of my guys don't post on forums, they have other stuff going on in their lives.
Please let us know if we are able to participate still.Vir-Chew-All!!

Re: 5v5 Scrims Roll Call
First, yes Barnaby I can be flexible enough with times as long as its not a password night to make sure our Euro Brothers get a chance to participate (even if its two squads of Euros).
Vir2L, not to be to difficult here but I'm asking that they be registered in the forums so they will at least have a passing acquaintance with who we are and they are not required to be regular posters.
ROE will of necessity need to mimic Competition ROE's within a TG framework. I have to talk to my bosses about any contradictions in standards (which there are many) but the one I most want to incorporate is the shorter round time; the suspension of territorial restraints also has to be considered if any of you decide to take your game to the rest of the on-line world.
And no, you may be able to use yitch configs in competition but you may not use them on our server. Some comps still use the 20 second rule (although it may be 15) and all discourage spawn sniping or camping. Competition uses mixed mode play and does allow some environmental variables we consider exploits. They also never heard of spamming walls as its pretty much SOP in competition.
Personally, I'm not attracted to competition play because it doesn't measure up to the quality of game play we enjoy here and it definitely favors the R&G and twitch shooters but I'm sure you'll have fun in our "adaptation".Last edited by LpBronco; 01-20-2009 at 06:13 PM.
