Re: Team 13th VS 82ndID
Well with all deference to Hazmat, if I hadn't had to leave right before the match started I think things might have been a bit different, but the outcome probably would have been about the same. We practiced with everyone owning claymore kits and no one running juggernaught. Also, we were supposed to have deep impact enabled. However, since I had to leave right before the match started it was evident that not everyone had their kit together as they should have.
One note also on the mod: if you do not have deep impact one you pretty much cannot wall anything. I know the shot that Haz is referring to and I also tried to shoot him back at the same time with basically the same result minus the kill.
Anyway, no complaints here. I really enjoyed the game play. If I could change anything it would have been that I would not have had to leave only to join very late; also I think the rounds should be raised to 7 to WIN, not 5. Really hard to come back with a best of 9 format.

Re: Team 13th VS 82ndID
Bomber your team was well put together and had some great cover and concealment positions. There was maybe one instance that you were down a rifle since your main effort went to the B site thru the main road and your loner remained at the cafe near the statue attempting to pick off runners moving from A to B. What you didnt know was no one was on A due to the great overwatch positions provided towards the rear area. So you had 4 rifles v. 5 rifles who had the kill zones dialed in and also had defensive countermeasures for early warning.
It was still a great and intense gaming. And something I havent had since when I was conducting 13th scrimmages with ourselves waaaaay back in the day! And Im looking forward to a rematch. But I dont think 5, 7 or 9 is a valid score. Because once each side gets a chance to play Offense and Defense its really a moot point since each team will know what locations to scan.
So I think once you get one shot at each position the 3rd and final round is really the deciding factor of who wins the full match. Just an interesting angle from a different perspective.

Re: Team 13th VS 82ndID
Thanks for the feedback Haz. I just know that more than one time we've dug some holes in matches which we have been able to come out of, but oh well. I was just frustrated I couldn't play more. I had been waiting 2 weeks to play... *sigh*
I have one suggestion on the match set up, tho. I think we should have a captains run through before each match and make it their responsibility to train/update their squads to the rules at least a day before the matches happen. Friday took wayyyy tooo long to get going, with no fault to anyone involved. It just takes too long to manage that many guys.
Keep the games comin... We are better than we showed on Friday.

Re: Team 13th VS 82ndID
a note on what bomber said.... is there a reason teh refs had to be on the teams?? correct me if im wrong, it was basically the 13th vs the 82nd; 5v5; with the server holding 12. space for two refs to spec. this question was rasied and the response givin was that we couldnt talk to the teams then to tell them...again if im wrong correct me why couldnt have the refs used rcon to communicate? the should have known the teams and depending on who was where or what ref took what team, should have had an easy job belaying orders IF ever needed.
i whish that i could have participated too, but i gave my spot up due to the fact that bomber had to leave and i did not have all the proper protocalls, thus giving my spot to an 82nd. i do have a question on the way the formate was.
i agree with bomber that i have been in Scrims in the CSS game where it was us and the e1st or the 32nd where my team was down 3-nill and ended up winning 4-3!! because i know that i had at least 3 entry plans made up, and 3 defensive strats set up so that it kept the oposing team off balance, so i think that the games should be best of 7.
secondly the game's hightend status should dictate the perimiter of your defense, in the pre-game "walk-around" i felt like we were on the verge of implaenting those "invisable lines" again and need to step back and think objectively!!
All in all good jobs all around...... lets get some more teams up and running!!!

Re: Team 13th VS 82ndID
I appreciated the walkthru, Drona. I just think it may speed things up a bit to only do it with the captains in the future. Thats all. :-)
Thanks!
