I see plenty of people who I consider as having a lack of skill and it's certainly not limited to those two perks. Your LMG example is a perfect example. But it's part of the game and you have to learn a way to counter it. Whining about it in a forum probably won't get it done in game.
heh, I think you misunderstand me. I don't care if they use those silly perks. In fact, I endorse crap players to keep using them, so they stay crap while others get better. I was merely expressing my disdain for the mentality that seems to breed the use of those perks. Sure, there may be those who work out a good use for them, but 95% of players who I see using them do so for nothing other than a revenge kill. I see little other use in a public environment.

Bear in mind guys, I don't struggle with these perks. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been killed by them, so the whole "adapt or quit complaining" line doesn't apply.

The point is moot in competition play, since both perks are modded out of the game in almost all tournaments. League admins and tournament players seem to share my view that kills are best performed while alive

We know which ones you don't like Bom, post up which combinations you do like that lead to the best play. So we can bring this thread back to it's initial purpose, what do you use and recommend? Also, what are the common perks being modded out of competitions?

Trying to trick me into posting positive thoughts? I see through your lies

Silenced P-90 with Stun x3, Deep Impact and Steady Aim. Since I'm not a fan of sitting in a bush and picking off the deer as they walk into my sights, this suits a more mobile player. Some would call it "run and gun." I have been toying with Dead Silence as well, but Steady Aim seems too useful to give up, since most players aren't quick enough to check the map to see if the sounds come from a friendly or not.

I avoid Double-Tap because I prefer to stick with the weapon I start the load-out with and if you play smart, you'll run out of ammo too fast and end up having to scrounge dropped weapons to survive.

S&D I use either bandolier/ or 2x claymores, then I'll use UAV Jammer, and Dead silence, I manage pretty damn well with that setup, thats with my trusty m4+ silencer attached.

All my other classes are about the same, but with a different primary weapon, its hard for me to get away from using anything other than stopping power along with deep penetration, although I'm about to change it up, switching to something other than deep pen. I just found out its 2x multiplier with it enabled.

One thing I've noticed is UAVs are rare enough on S&D that UAV jammer (which I love) loses a lot of its value. Deep pen I'm still on the fence about. I do get to shoot people through the walls now and then but it's so situational.

I can't edit my post and just realised that I made a typo.

Deep Impact should read Stopping Power.

Re: CoD4 create-a-class discussion...

Here's the kit I've been using the most lately:

M4 w/ suppressor
USP w/ suppressor
Bomb Squad
UAV Jammer
Deep Penetration

The suppressor gives me more stability and no muzzle flash so it's easier for me to adjust aim while shooting. I haven't stepped on or seen many claymores on the TG server but I still like taking the explosive detection. Same goes for the UAV jammer because I want to stay off radar as much as possible. The deep penetration helps give back a little power lost with the suppressor when I'm shooting covered targets.

Actually... you don't show up on the UAV when using silenced weapons. Take Stopping Power to increase the speed and usefulness of those silenced kills.

Re: CoD4 create-a-class discussion...

I rarely worry about radar as I find 1 in 10 pub players watch it, let alone listen for footsteps or gun fire. I do use silenced weapons a lot though, just in case I encounter people who watch it well. My weapons of choice are silenced m4,mp5,p90, m16 red dot, or 1014 with grip, I sometimes switch silencers and red dots around depending on server size and game mode.

Actually, you do show up and the UAV jammer masks your location. With the UAV jammer, you'll show up if you fire with a loud weapon and your location fades. A silencer doesn't make you invisible to an observation device in the sky.

Wait... what? Are you positive? I'm going by the item tooltips. I could have SWORN that silenced weapons prevent you from showing up on UAV radar.

There are two different things that could cause you to show up on the minimap. Firing a loud weapon is 1 which can be covered by a minimap. Number 2 is a UAV. A silencer will cover one exception, the UAV Jammer will cover the second.

Oh... ok. I usually play hardcore, so the minimap isn't visible until someone throws a UAV up.

So do I. That's why it's important to check the UAV whenever gunshots are heard. You have about 5 seconds before the contact fades.

Re: CoD4 create-a-class discussion...

I usually use stopping power and deep penetration on most weapons. However more and more players are reaching higher ranks now and hence there are alot more claymores out there on S&D so I may use bomb squad in more kits.

I find that the standard M16a4 with a red dot is a very good weapon all around. There isn't a situation that it can't handle.

The M60 is just mean and spitefull. It shows no respect for the other team. I love my M60 with support grip With stopping power and deep penetration this weapon is good for suppressive fire and even CQC. I like that just a quick tap will send enough fire power to down someone running from cover to cover, of course more lead is always better even when they reach "cover".

The G3 is another weapon I really like but I find that my accuracey and kills are down now that I have a red dot on it, anyone else found this?

I like to use my perks in a way that makes me effective while alive. I don't run and gun and find that usually for me the first 0.5 seconds of the fire fight make the difference so anything that lets me kill faster is best. I don't know how much juggernaut helps so I'm leary about using it.

Edit: Thoughts on the MP5 people? I'm struggling to use it effectively yet I watch others who seem to clean up with it?
