    Under Fire

While traversing either open ground or a narrow street your best bet is to stay off to one side of the road/area where the enemy has as few amount of vantage points as humanly possible. If you come under fire while advancing seek cover immediatly, if you drop your gun, LEAVE IT! Get to cover fast. If you are in open ground hit the dirt and try to move near tall grass if possible. Once on the ground or behind cover you want to deply a smoke grenade somewhere that covers your movements the best from the enemy.

Once the smoke has built up you want to fall back and regroup with your team. Heal, reload, and organize. Once you have regrouped and done the prior suggested things you want to redeploy in an area where you can set up a base of fire on the enemy who has shot at you but still have cover, in open ground your best bet is to fall back off to the side of the smoke prone, make sure you are still concealed by the smoke. Once you have your base of fire set up attempt to eliminate the enemy from there through suppression fire. (In this scenario he is only suppressed) Once the enemy is succesfully suppresed send out flankers, smgs are best suited for this.

Flankers needs to find cover that is very close to the enemy where he can A lob a grenade into the enemy's area or B eliminate him with some well aimed shots. Once he is dead have your flankers set up a base of fire covering the movements of the rest of the team. The other team whom covered the flankers needs to post 1 or 2 men to cover the others while they move across so all in all you have 1 or 2 from the main squad and the flankers covering the men moving across to the flankers. Once you have the whole team reassembled heal, reload, organize, and advance.

Good advice. You have also shown the importance of using smoke. The smoke grenades are one of the most useful assests you have in a game and almost all the classes have a smoke grenade in thier loadout.

Last night my team were able to use coordinated smoke grenades to advance across fairly open ground towards and enemy MG posistion. The enemy is reduced to either firing randomly or not firing at all since they cannot see you.

Heh, sorry Trooper. Yeah, smokes usually break up mg fire pretty well, I usually just spray the smoke until it clears. Another good idea is to pop a smoke and go the opposite direction to confuse him(the mger).
