I wnt into my MP config file to add a few of those tweaks
like the fov_80 and maxpackets_100 since I was always adding them in game
and I noticed that they were already in there. I don't know if they were always there
or if the file updated when I added them during a game. I assume they will always run now. Does anybody know?

Look for something like this

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\(your profile)

Inside should be a file called "config_mp.cfg"

okay, that is the one I was looking at, some post called it the mp_config.cfg, so I didn't know if I was going to edit the right one or not.

If you dont like your "up and down" sensitivity to be as high as your "side to side" you can mess with /m_pitch

default is .022

I like mine around .010

has any one figured out how to get around the /sv_cheats write protection?

I want to time remap some recorded demos of me playing so I can fraps them in slow mo for a video project. time remap and 3rd person camera (noclip) are both protected by sv_cheats.

I have tried everything I could possibly think of to get them to work but it simply wont. /set thereisacow 1337 didnt work /developer 1 didnt work /monkeytoy 0 didnt work, /devmap <mapname> loads the map to play on it does not allow me to play my recorded demos to fraps.

Activision's support is beyond useless they have no idea what Im talking about. When I asked they responded with: "Activision doesnt support demo versions of the game because they are unfinished versions of the game." Which has no relevance what so ever to my problem. They think im trying to use cheats in the single player demo or something.

Heres what I am doing:

I recorded demos of myself playing on some pub servers using /record <demoname> command.

I go to play those recordings back with /demo <demoname> doing the Mod Warfare work around.

I want to time remap some parts of the recording to get it to play back at ~50% speed while recording with FRAPS but it says time remap is protected by anti-cheats

The same is true for 3rd person camera angles, which is basically the noclip command.

if I type /sv_cheats 1 in the console while im playing the recording (or at any time for that matter) it says sv_cheats is write protected.

I mentioned the other things I tried in my previous post, I also tried using Seismovision to play back the recordings but I get the same result.

If you have the right video editing software, you can change the playback speed instead of changing it during recording.

trust me, I am a 3rd year editing student with my own copy of Final Cut Pro on a quad Xeon Mac Pro.


Video is 30 frames per second (29.97 if you want to be technical) slowing down a clip in FCP (or any editing program) only reduces the frames per second, making the video look choppy or stutter. If you can slow down the raw footage to 50% play back speed while recording at 30 frames a second the video looks much better and smoother.

I have been trying to do a little research out this and haven't found anything yet, but I want to be able to work the sprint like a hold and release thing not a toggle, I don't know how manytimes I have died because I was sprinting and had to crouch or press the sprint button again to beable to shoot, and by then it was too late!
