CoD4 Tweaks

Hello all, I am a long time lurker, first time poster =P

Longtime CoD'ers probably know this but I will throw it out anyway.

Default field of view is 65
to widen it to 80 type "/cg_fov 80" in the console

you can antcually set this in your startup config by adding the line ....

seta cg_fov "80"

...into your mp_config file

Anyone know any others gems to enhance gameplay?

Plus I hate the fact that players can get an advantage over others by simply turning of some lighting options. Its the same problem in Insurgency. I wish those settings were forced on. I mean, realistic lighting like hdr counts as realism - right?

I like the FOV tweak. Improves view on my widescreen. Thanks rangerlump.

I definietly want to try the FPS one now.

If you know a tweak guide for command line input for CoD2.
I have found that the commands are exactly the same for CoD4. Which is nice if I am in a regular server I can set the HUD opacity to a lower setting.

What is that command line?

the tilde key ,aka in-game console, there are number of commands that will enable better play through editing some settings. Though go too far and PB will kick you for not having the same settings as the server. This will also be a issue when maps are created incorrectly. If the mapmaker does not set something up correctly. The server admin may not be aware of that until PB kicks people for not having that command the same on the server as on the map as on teh client.

If that makes sense at all.

I know what the console is, I meant what is the command for the HUD transparency?

Favorites disappearing?

Click 'add new favorite' to open the dialog box, but don't type anything. Click OK, and voila, all your favorites are back!

I wnt into my MP config file to add a few of those tweaks
like the fov_80 and maxpackets_100 since I was always adding them in game
and I noticed that they were already in there. I don't know if they were always there
or if the file updated when I added them during a game. I assume they will always run now. Does anybody know?
