COD4 DirectX problem
Hey i have a problem with my cod 4 game
when i:
double click on; call of duty 4 singleplayer/multiplayers game icon
it loads up and come up with an error saying- DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error
so it wont let me play
so how do i get rid of this problem ?IM AN EVIL SCOTSMAN AND HAMISH IS MY NAME !

i dont know if that will help but in that article is a link for directx you can download and reinstall it. I think that will fix the issue.that sounds like a good idea trooper.

I has the same problem Sean and never resolved it.
I was getting this error trying to run COD4 on my Vista.
Reinstalled everything, same error.
Booted up to XP with my dual boot and it worked fine, not sure what to tell you.
Please report back your findings, maybe it will help some others.

I get that when i do a hard shut down of COD4. Did your computer crash at any point in time while playing COD? Because when i crashed once i had to reinstall directX and update my drivers. But i was running an ATI card and it turned out something was reset in my ATI Catalyst Control Center. If your running Nvidia disregard what i just said.
