Punkbuster: disallowed program/driver error
I haven't been on the servers lately because I keep getting PBed for the following:
RESTRICTION: Disallowed Program/Driver[125116].
I've done some research but haven't been able to find much info on it. I'm not using any hacks so I can't imagine what it's deemed an illegal program/driver. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it and even DLed and ran the PBsetup app. I'm still getting kicked. And it's not just the TG servers.
Anyone else experience this? Any clues on how to solve it?"These go to eleven."

Update PB and see what happens.

Re: Punkbuster: disallowed program/driver error
It would be helpful if you listed your comp specs. And list the video and sound drivers but it sounds like you may need to delete and reinstall the driver packages.

Re: Punkbuster: disallowed program/driver error
Try updating all graphics/systems drivers. I can't think of why they would have any connection with PB, but it's the best idea i got.

Re: Punkbuster: disallowed program/driver error
I was bored today and decided to google around on your problem Urge. Here is a list of things I have seen suggested on the 'net to fix your problem:
- Update video and sound card drivers
- Redownload and install DirectX
- Un/re install Punkbuster
- Close unnecessary programs (ie. Java Quick Start, Quicktime Updater, etc.)
- Disable or Uninstall Antivirus software (PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!)
I found the above list with relevant links and such at http://woolfy.flotserver.net/?page=p...Program_Driver
A couple other places have said that Logitech's mouse and keyboard drivers may cause this. So, it might not hurt to un/re install the drivers if you are using Logitech input devices.
Another person states that 3rd party software such as Joy2Key, autohotkey, and other macro's and scripts might cause the error.
I found several sites claiming that ISO mounting software may cause the error. Some 'name brands' of the above mentioned software would include Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, PowerISO. If you have that type of software installed either disable it or uninstall it to see if it helps.
And finally, one website reports that the Comodo firewall causes this problem. Update or uninstall the app if you have it installed.
The last thing you can do is send in a trouble ticket to Evenbalance so that they can either help you, ignore you, or call you a hacker/cheater.
Sorry for the rambling post.. I was bored enough to search, but not bored enough to properly format this post. Hope something here helps you. If not, and you find the answer elsewhere, be sure to post it here to help others having the same problem.

Re: Punkbuster: disallowed program/driver error
Hi, was getting the same problem and couldnt really find the solution anywhere. Found the solution to my specific problem so thought i might register and post here.
Im doing some directx programming and set my directx to "Use Debug Version of Direct3D" and Debug Output Level to "More". This is what caused my specific PB problem.
Like i said will only be applicable if you have been messing around with the directX SDK stuff.
Can be found Start->Control Panel->DirectX->Direct3D
Just reset to "Use Retail Version of Direct3D" and on the Debug Output Level slide it to "Less".

Re: Punkbuster: disallowed program/driver error
Thanks a lot for the info RokaN! I wish more people out on the 'net would share knowledge and experience as you have.
